Just discovered this new style (to me) in RJ Rocker's Hop Quake. They're out of South Carolina. What a fantastic palette experience. Very hop forward with a warm toasted oat feel towards the back to end.

Anyone familar with this style? Any similar suggestions I can hunt for?

Are they very different from the Black IPA style? Those have been hoppy coffee beers.

Tired Hands brews many of their IPAs with oats for a creamier mouthfeel.

Surly Abrasive says it's an Oatmeal DIPA. It's damn good too.

A local brewery here on Long Island just opened up - Sand City Brewing in Northport. They have an oatmeal IPA called Day Drifter which is just fabulous. Unfortunately they are not canning or bottling yet to the best of my knowledge.

Burnside Brewing in Portland has an oatmeal pale ale that quickly became one of my local favorites. Really nice, hop forward, bitter bite to it that's nicely balanced with an amazingly satisfying, chewy malt backbone. Big fan of using oats with judicious amounts of hops.

It sounds like you're thinking of oatmeal stouts, but keep in mind that brewers can use oat malts without heavily roasting them. For example, Surly describes their Abrasive double IPA as:
"Hazy gold in color, this Oatmeal Double IPA has aggressive aromas of candied grapefruit/tangerine and tropical fruit. Malted oats greatly enhance the body and the high level of bitterness is balanced by this sweetness. Citra hops are used for aroma & flavor additions and for dry-hopping, while Warrior hops are used primarily for bitterness."

Edit: That said there's no reason a brewer couldn't also add hops to an oatmeal stout and call it an oatmeal IPA

I've never heard of an IPA brewed with oats. Would try 1 if I saw 1. Sounds interesting to say the least.

While currently only in Denver, Declaration Brewing's Electric Silk is a fine oatmeal IPA.

Free Will made an oatmeal IPA called Avena Oatmeal IPA that was pretty tasty; don't think they're making this one anymore.

**Edit: Checked out there website and they have it on NITRO!
