Nothing too crazy out there in FT's, but having a good trade partner close to CCB..that's the respect it deserves

 

This sort of lunacy is exactly why I have done little/no trading with anyone here. I have 3 buddies I send boxes to regularly, and who send stuff to me, and the difference is we're not "trading" the way its done here. They want to try interesting stuff we get here that they don't (they're in Michigan, Chicago, and Missouri), and they send me stuff they think I'll like from where they are.

Are the boxes all "even" in terms of $? Not even close. My buddy in Chicago sends me BCBCS, KBS, Bells, etc., and just told me he's sending me a King Henry. He could get crazy trades for that stuff, but is happy to get Texas beers in trade, because HE LIKES BEER AND WANTS TO DRINK IT. I know, crazy idea. I'll stick with trading with people I know, and who appreciate beer - I'm happy to hook them up with good stuff, and not expect anything in return.

Amazing concept, isn't it? Speaking of which, BA ithinkimasofa is looking for a woodicus (posted in ISO). If anyone has one please help him out, he's a an awesome and generous trader. As mentioned above, he has traded me "rare" beers for not so limited good beers in return for no reason other then he enjoys drinking good beer and seems to not care about rarity and hype.

I actually don't want to tell anyone how generous he his for fear he will abandon me j/k but I would like to see someone help him out so he can get the woodicus.

 

I make a pretty good trading partner too! C'mon you guys, you know you want to.

 

I would if I could, but if I get 1, I'm sending it to my buddy in Chicago. If I get 2, the second one is for me.

 

I've had really good success in establishing trades based on locals for locals. Forget the whale stuff, that's too much work and hassle for me. There are a lot of solid, interesting brews that are available in Texas that folks can't get elsewhere and are also happy to drink. Much more enjoyable in my humble opinion.

You evil, evil man. Don't ever share your beers with me again or invite me to a tasting. I don't want your blood beers. On a side note, I know I told you at the time, but the BT I shared with you didn't taste off, did it? I thought it tasted delicious but may have had an off taste of ebay mixed in. Could have just been me though.

Yeah I hear you it was terrible. My little palate could not decipher the taste exactly. I didn't know if it was Ebay funk or horse blanket/library I was tasting. BTW I'm in Wisconsin for a few more weeks if anyone wants any New Glarus.

 

So to put the thread back on the tracks, has anyone seen Weasel Rodeo in the DFW area as of Sunday August 19?

I'm going to check my usual spots today, but I haven't seen anything as of this past Saturday.
