Last year was very good. Got two of them. I hope to get at least two this year, and if I'm lucky, I plan to get four.

One of the best. My man down the way from my house still has last year's on the shelf that he begs me to buy every time I'm in there. I usually oblige.

Now, Firestone barrel aged beers are best fresh.

I prefer most of them at 6 months to a year. Sucaba, Helldorado and Stickee are pretty sweet fresh and I find they become much more balanced with some time, and Parabola can be a bit hot and will mellow and smooth out with some age. Merkin just isnt very good at all no matter when you drink it.

Agreed, 1 year is prime time for most barrel aged beers.

Had a year old Merkin and it tasted like a watered down Parabola. Got a bottle still actually. Not really looking to hang onto it.

The year old Merkin and fresh ones taste the same. Watered down Parabola says it all. Can anyone verify a release date for this?

always happy to score a few bottles of this tasty brew. Wish I wasn't still so darn broke from BCBS though. That beer-hunting life...

Randomly stopped by the brewery on a motorcycle trip this weekend. Delighted to see it was Sucaba release day! They had 2012-2016 on tap, and even a little parabajava left over. Grabbed what could fit on my bike and hit the road

For me, stocking up usually means going to two or three locations, getting one or two bottles at each, for a total of six or under. Or, less frequently, driving up to Buellton and buying from Barrelworks.

Matter of opinion. Sucaba is much better with age. Actually all of them are in my opinion but especially sucaba.

I usually agree, but I'm starting to think that Parabola is better fresh.

Best beer I've ever had. Everything about it is just perfect for the style. Have my trading partners in NorCal on the case already.

I'm sure it'll get to MN at about the same time DT becomes president.

-On the other hand, a few of us NOT in Chicago would love to have a snifter of HA Big Hugs or Revolution Deth's Tar once in a while. :l
