    Hi all,

I'm heading to Italy in 2 weeks and I'll be in Rome, Florence and Venice and I was wondering if anyone knew if there were any bottle shops in any of those cities that would have any Cantillon to purchase.

    Thanks!

Were you able to take any bottles away or was it all on site consumption?

Let's just start a new EU-subforum called "Cantillon in...(Nuremberg, Italy, Prague)".

I was in Rome over the holidays and had it at Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fà.

They had it on tap on in various varieties in bottles. I'm not 100% sure, but I think they may be willing to sell you a bottle to go. They are super folks!

Just made reservations at a restaurant in the Piedmont region. Their bottle list is entirely Cantillon. yum!
(suchs that it's in spectacular wine country, so not sure how much Cantillon I'll have)

Better call it "Ignorant whalez hunters who only care about Cantillon in...(Nuremberg, Italy, Prague)"..sorry if I'm offending anyone, but those kinda questions offend me as well...

Why are you offended by this? Cantillon makes world class beer that is very difficult to get in many (most) parts of the world. People want to drink it when then are in locations where it's available.

Anyways, this guys curmudgeonliness aside, any updated recommendations on places to get Cantillon in Florence, Venice, or Milan? To go bottle shops would be amazing, don't plan to bring any home but some bottles for the hotel room would be stellar. Thanks in advance!

Because europe is a great place where people trake pride in their local produce and the traditions, where each place hats own unique alcoholic drink. Ignoring this to get those globally nerd-approved "whalez" is kinda offensive, esp. since these "whalez"used to be common before and affordable before the us sour hype started.

It's just more evidence that 'craft' is creating a global monoculture....

I am taking a similar trip and have been doing a little research myself. I haven't been to any of these places but they all have Cantillon periodically, and it sounds like bars on the list will let you take bottles to go:

    Rome:

    Florence:

I'm not planning to hoard everything I can find just wanted a chance to try some on a busy trip. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

    feedback?
    just go and relax.
    have a good time.
don't be what's perceived to be an obnoxious American tourist and throw down $$ to take bottles to go, and everyone will treat you nicely.

Update on Florence. Eataly has a nice bottle selection (by far the best I have seen in Italy so far) but no Cantillon or other sours. Diorama's updated tap list shows several variants of Cantillon as well as some 3F (including Armand!). I did make it to Diorama, super small but very cool place. They had a few Cantillon selections (Classic, Kriek, Grand Cru) but did not have everyone on their website's taplist (did not have LPF, Rose, or Armand/other 3F's). I suspect they have these but keep them for locals (I base this off of the fact that I checked the day before I went and Armand was listed at $60euros, then checked again the day I went and the day after and Armand was still listed but at $65 Euros, so they are clearly updating the tap list), but thats not a big deal. I still thought they were friendly and I don't mind them taking care of the locals. Just a word of advice, if you go to Diorama at night you almost certainly will not be able to find a taxi/uber/etc. So be prepared to walk at 1am-2am.

I'm going to wander around Venice over the next day or two and I'll come back and update on that.

Also, the wine is killer, so I've pretty much drank no beer other than the trip to Diorama.

Lastly, this is a stunningly beautiful place. This is god's country.
