While Easter may not be the most universally celebrated holiday, I think it's safe to assume many of us will be getting together with family and friends for a nice meal. Any thoughts on what you're planning to crack open/pair with the meal?

For us, my wife and I usually do a main course of fish - salmon, most of the time - with some fresh spring veggies and some method potato prep. Of course, there are also a few apps of cheese and nuts, maybe some deviled eggs.

I usually go Belgian - refreshing, spritzy, and versatile. This year maybe a Westmalle Tripel with the meal, maybe a Duvel or Orval or two with the apps.

    You?

The wife usually makes a delicious carrot cake for dessert. Methinks a nice, big American barleywine for a dynamite pairing.

    Cuvee van De Keizer Blauw
    Aecht Schlenkerla Fastenbier
    Tripel Karmeliet

Those are three beers I will involve with my Easter.

I have no good reason why, but I have always gravitated towards Weinhenstephaner Hefeweizen for Easter dinner, so it's kind of become my Easter beer.

I could see that, especially depending on the evening meal. Super solid choice.

Do they still make this? It was delicious in the past. Cheers!

Pretty Things Fluffy White Rabbits used to be my go to Easter Beer. Guess I need to find a substitute. Suppose Houblon Chouffe will do just fine!

I don't usually go Belgian, but given the attacks on Brussels today, I may make an exception this year.

Unfortunately my Biggest Loser contest ends on Monday so probably no Easter beer for me. Monday I'm weighing in and cracking a KBS.

Any maple/coffee "breakfast" stout should suffice. Also, Aventinus is great for all occasions and the purple label (old bottles) is a nice touch in keeping with the Easter theme.

Good to see so many folks are planning to get together, share beers, food, etc. Easter, at least in my house growing up, was always a lesser celebrated holiday and only came into something bigger when I got married. Religious association aside, any excuse to come together and share good food and drink, right?

I'm with the OP on the lighter Belgian spectrum. I'll probably have a few Saisons. La Fin Du Monde would be nice too.
