Boston-area/NEsters, what can you tell me about Trillium releases? I'm heading up to Boston for a church-related weekend, but should have some time later in the day on Friday, April 1 (around 6) to pick up some bottles. Do they sell out of everything by then? Are there regular bottles there normally regardless of special batches? Any help would be appreciated. Also, would love to tick some handshakes!
You should have no problem in scoring what bottles are available at that time there supply has become better with the addition of the new brewery in Canton. Not sure about the handshake as much as I would love to, but driving into Boston on a Friday night is not my favorite thing. If you had a chance to get to Everett and Night Shift they are turning out some great beers too and the supply is usually great and a nice tap room to chill in. As Trillium is grab and go in Boston no samples or tasting.
@Doogflaggat oh hey! i'll be in boston that same weekend! doin the ol' beerroadtrip w/ a few buddies.. drivin up from VA, so will be doin the MA beerstops (TH,Tr,NS)-- we went to Boston Univ for undergrad, so visitin the old 'hood. Haven't been to see Trillium yet either, so definitely lookin to check out either Canton or FtPoint... would be cool to meet up, i could mule some VA stuff, for you even, but i'd understand if you are in a time crunch. @smanson56 For Trillium, both Canton and Downtown (or just one of em?), are they both 'grab and go, no samples or tasting'? So would the recommendation be to grab and go for Trillium.. and then head up to NightShift? or the boston beer bars?
There are some samples available in the Trillium Canton locations. No samples in Boston. No seating or anything like that at either trillium location. There is a bottles only line at both locations so you don't have to wait with the people waiting for growler fills. Night Shift has a nice space with flights of samples and also full pours. To me Night Shift is just a chill place making some really good beers. They now have 3 to 4 canned offerings available at most time and sometimes even more. They do some really good BA beers some on draft usually and usually some 750ml bottles for most. I'm a member of the Barrel Society at Night Shift they usually have a couple members only beers on draft. If you had an idea when you might hit Night Shift I'd be more likely to make that trip as it is a little out of the city. If you figure out a day and time that works for Night Shift I could probably hook you up with a pour or two from the Barrel society stuff. I'm only about an hour north of Night Shift. Night Shift usually has some cool food trucks over the weekends with some good food too.
I think I've got it narrowed down to six possible senders (though who knows, last round I ruled out the person who was my actual sender). I'm not good at these ambiguous hints. I think I might be more excited for my target to receive their box than to receive a box myself (not to say I'm not looking forward to some awesome beer).

Thank you guys for the info! If I had more time, I'd totally make a night/weekend out of it and most likely head to those other spots you mentioned. I talked to the people I'm traveling with and we will most likely be in the city for food/drinks after so maybe I could meet up with you @beatjunkee?
I'm generally pretty knowledgeable about brewing (certainly not to a professional level). I'll admit though that this is an area that I really don't know too much about; so thank you for posting that, and the link.
