    Hey BA,

    As we are finally getting into the nice months here in Chicago it got me thinking about how excited I am to drink APAs, by far my favorite style, all the time now.

    And with that it got me thinking, my favorite daily drinker is Alpha King, always has been. Then you throw in Zombie Dust on occasion, and I think it's fairly unanimous that FFF is the leader in this sector.

    Even BA rankings agree, so doubt there will be much argument. What other good ones are out there?

    I've got a handful of go to's out there which include Daisy Cutter and when on a budget Goose's Ten Hills.

    But nothing tops 3 Floyds. Well done guys. Cheers.

    When I started brewing beers like Alpha King were called IPAs. ;-}

    Brickstone APA and PseudoSue are both better than Zombie Dust.

    Hop Lab Citra is head and shoulders better than any of the brew listed here (barring Trillium - I have only had their IPAs.) But I did Sue, ZD and Hop Lab in the space of 2 days and it wasn't even close.

    Love me some 3 Floyds but I'd take some Hill Farmstead, Tired Hands, and Trillium APAs over them any day, plus PseudoSue...

    If they called Alpha King an IPA people would say its too malty and it sucks, so they call it an APA, so people say its really hoppy for the style and awesome.

    Not the biggest fan of Alpha King but Zombie Dust is solid. IMO however Edward, PseudoSue, FPPA are all much better APA's. Granted that's the style I enjoy and it's all relative so to each his own!

    Love Zombie Dust and I love that its more readily available these days - still tops for me.

    But, I also love me some Pipeworks Lizard King and TG PseudoSue.

    Nothing tops 3 Floyds? Well, ZD is my favorite APA I've had, but that seems a pretty sweeping statement. I suspect some of the APAs listed by others might well be equal to or better. I aim to find out. But ZD is a lovely rendition of the super-hop APA.

    Man. As much as I love FFF, I gotta say that TG makes some knockout APAs, psuedoSue obviously being one of a few. I've only had Enigma Dry Hopped Fort Point from Trillium, but I'd probably put that beer above ZD as well. As a whole FFF does make some of the best APAs and IPAs. But I don't think they are leaps and bounds above other places like Trillium and Toppling Goliath.

    Never had 3F beers, so don't have a yardstick for comparison, but I will say that Alesmith's.394 was, and still is, the best APA I've ever had, rating it a 5/5.

    It's TG for me. Pseudosue is my favorite beer ever, throw in light speed and xhops gold and they are tough to beat.

    Lots of great suggestions in here. Though certainly some regional bias, like one guy bringing up a slightly above average st Louis brewery's 86 rated APA. Most would say this isn't in the same category as the rest of the heavy hitters here.
