Cracked this fidy about 15 minutes ago but didn't wanna be the first post on this most excellent day.

Currently half way through this beauty and just wanted to give big ups to the double J's for hosting this event. Kickin myself for not remembering to pick up a Duvel today but I gotta say this will be a much better nightcap...

i see @CanadianBacon woke-up with a similar idea. sadly, i couldn't attempt a stunt to that degree & risk waking my household. i did manage to use as many bottles tho'. lol.

Good morning BA, hope everyone has a great Saturday! Still waiting on my mountain bike to get out of the shop. I really want to ride some trails again. Today was the big Milford trail ride, but I am missing out since I don't have a capable bike . Once I do get it back I will be going to Poto for sure though. My favorite trail, but also the one that put me in the hospital in September 2014.

This stuff is delicious! Flavors of big milk chocolate, cocoa, peanut butter, caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, and light herbal hops. Light herbal/roast bitterness on the finish. Very smooth and moderately creamy/silky; slight chalkiness from the PB and roast malts. Great classic porter flavors with a lot of PB presence. Wish we got this up here, I can get this one in Ohio.


Always excellent. Flavors of big juicy pineapples; with hop flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine; with light-moderate honey/bready malt and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness; smooth and crisp finish; moderately sticky/resinous mouthfeel with light grainy malt creaminess. Good dryness on finish, with zero hop or fruit astringency. I wouldn't put this over Regular, Grapefruit, or even Habanero; but I still love it, and have been buying this just as much as the other 3 kinds.


Top tier amazing saison. Flavors of big lemon zest, grapefruit, pear, pineapple, peach, orange peel, pepper, and clove; with moderate wheat, cracker, bready malt; with floral/grassy hop and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast spice and grassy bitterness; smooth/crisp finish; with some wheat creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Medium-high carbonation and nice dryness. Definitely my new favorite go-to saison now that we get them in Michigan.


My first taste of the 2016 batch. Completely incredible! Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and light dark fruits. Bittersweet balanced full bodied finish; creamy/silky/slick with light chalky roast notes. Lightly warming finish, with zero boozy barrel notes. Great malt/barrel balance. Glad I bought multiple 4 packs this year.

The channel is an opening channel for a trading card game I played as a kid and my subscribers come from every walk of life and age group. I dont think young childrens parents will appreciate them watching a drunk guy talk about cards. Nor would it help grow the channel! So catch you all later!

One of my favorites this morning, a Cream Stout from Ozark Beer Company, the best brewery in Arkansas!



I love these guys, but I really miss Willie.

In the meantime, this interesting "re-make" of Pete's Wicked Ale, made by local Akron brewer Hoppin' Frog, is kicking my devilish butt! Cool that they did a 30 year re-do of this iconic brew, but I don't think it needed to be "imperialised"...kudos for the effort though!

Found a cool 1981 Hobie 14 catamaran yesterday - in great shape, with trailer - for $100!! Holy hell, I am a lucky sailor, and check out the name of the boat ....."Catnapper"....haha...perfect for a sailor with cats!

On my way home from work yesterday, I stopped into Upright to pick up a bottle of the Oregon Native. But, they had bottles of their Bourbon & Rum Barrel Aged Barleywine to drink in-house. Bottle #107 of 120.

 

Must be someone's birthday... Not as sweet as some people made it out to be, it's really quite excellent! Cheers!!

 

It's grilling weather here, and, perhaps, time to find a larger table for our backyard...
