Good morning BAs. I enjoyed this fine ale from Side Project.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There's nothing like a midweek day off.
Starting the day with a breakfast sandwich and some coffee.

The mad scientist in me has decided one of this summer's beer goals will be to make as many combos as I can with all the FBS I've been saving. Already did one with Rubaeus and one with Sumatra Mountain, now onto something outside the family, as it were. I call this one "Baby's Big Trip". As tasty as you would expect these two added together would be.

I mentioned this scene in one of last night's LNBA posts. I shouldn't throw a scene out of context at people if they haven't seen the movie, but seriously, this car chase scene makes The French Connection and The Blues Brothers look like kids' home movies on their bikes.

Happy midpoint, Advocates! Stay cool if you can....

EDIT: 30 minutes in, both beers have been emptied into Baby's Big Trip. FBS holds the advantage in smell, but the bold chocolate notes of Expedition overpower any coffee flavors you'd expect from the FBS. They're there, just underneath the more prevalent stuff. I would recommend trying this if you're not adverse to adulterating beers.

Needing to fatten up my refinished iron skillet, so it is time to cook bacon. Managed to find one more Victory at Sea in my basement as well! Cheers.

    Hi friends!
Doing side by side of home brewed DIPA
a nod to the awesome reviews of @JackHorzempa
Filtered vs Unfiltered (US flag cap is filtered)
Quick thoughts: malt base peeks its head more in the filtered version.
Initial citrus and hop notes are more prominent in the unfiltered one.
Conclusion: Two 8% DIPA equals one happy man
Belated happy flag day my friends!!
    Cheers.

Summer vacation... an opportunity for morning beer on the deck.

I reviewed this beer favorably back at the end of April and I agree with myself today... a nice cream ale from southwest Virginia.

    Happy hump day!

Drinking an IPA from Britanny (Bretagne), France. How rare is that? It is very much, only rated once on BA so obviously unavailable in America at the moment. It's good nonetheless, not the stuff you find from the supermarket.

    Cheers!
