pours golden amber with a white head that falls fast. Lively bubbles flourish in the pour continue to rise . Clear and bright. Nose is good malt with a nice hops herbal. A little bit of floral and breaddy softness. Hops presence on this beer is low. The barely perceptible fruity ester from yest is just there. Also perfectly. Smells like appleskin. Taste is a generous malt with a more moderate rather than low hops presence on the palate. The herbal is sweet and cool. This is a crisp and easy drinking beer. The little tang at the finish is exemplary and as the beer goes to the swallow it's like the whole thing gives way at that moment just for a second. Then the textures in the flavors last, earhty hops and crusty bread. That fruit was but a hint both on the nose and on the palate. A soft counterpoint if you will to the features of the beer that are absent. No diacetyl, no dms. Hops bitter lasts. Excellent. It's a smidgen over carbonated.

My brother just moved to MA and couldn't be a part of our annual Father/Sons golf outing vs. our Uncle/Cousins, but he sent me a little something from MA for moral support. Next year, we may have to move this golf outing out east!!!

Good morning BAs! Another beautiful sunny day here in NW PA - the weather is really unusual, not shitty as usual. I'm very surprised at the high ratings this one got - it's OK but...

Good morning! Oude Gueze Tilquin, a Belgian lambic, to start the day. We have arrived at our last "home base" for the summer: Milwaukee. I will be here 2 months, and one of the first orders of business will be to address my overloaded photobucket...cheers!

Appearance: Very attractive rich rose gold color, thick white cap, very good lacing.

Aroma: Citrus, floral and conifer hops, underlying malt presence.

Taste: Hops first followed by mild malt presence. Good medium to full texture in a pleasing way. I don't detect sweetness but there a rich malt presence. Hops follow through and linger in the aftertaste which, while crisp, is clean with little hop bitterness. Well put together, this.

    Texture: Medium full.

Overall: A lot to like and little to criticize, well, perhaps critical is too strong a word because the closest to negative I can come is say I would've liked a bit more pronounced malt presence. Fits the IPA model but so do a lot of others.

You would like them. They are made at the same place where we went only by a different brewer. =)
