Morning BA's, and Happy Friday and July 1st!

Happy that I am off until next Tuesday....will be heading down to Mohican State Park and Forest in a bit - hopefully will find a campsite along the Clear Fork and do a bit of fly fishing for some trout down there...my daughter Chloe will be driving up from Columbus to meet me there later this afternoon, should be a nice day!

In the meantime....let there be beer!

Southern Tier Tangier IPA
4.6%, moderate bitterness



Appearance: Light hazy yellow, good cap and lacing.

Aroma: Bright, citrusy, spicy hops with floral and fruit notes, some underlying malt.

Taste: Malt core of a little sweetness, hops forward but not dominant, the citrus comes through more in the taste than the aroma. Flavors nicely combined with good balance, clean finish and a bit of spicy hop aftertaste.

Texture: Medium and rounded.

Overall: Well made and refreshing, leaning more toward the Session moniker than IPA. Summer style for lack of a better word (or better thought) and interesting enough to buy more.

 

Loved this one. Perfect combination of sour and apricot sweetness

 

Good Morning BA Land!

I had every intention of posting these yesterday, but napping was more important. After posting my first two yesterday morning, I had some breakfast, then a little nap. The cousins kids came over, so I made chicken quesadillas for lunch. After lunch, I went with them to our pool to "help" watch them. Mostly, I had a Roughtail Everything Rhymes with Orange and took another snooze. It was hot, but worth it.



When the kids left, I took a shower and had another little siesta (Noticing a pattern?). After a great dinner of shrimp and salad, I decided to compare my Dragon's Milk Reserve to the regular. I'd have to say that I was tremendously disappointed, as I didn't notice much of a difference in the two.





All in all, family, plenty of sunshine, five beers, three naps, and two great meals. That's a monumental day, to me!


That brings me to today.

After a walk around the neighborhood, I'm having a little morning coffee. I love this beer; Wiseacre's Gotta Get Up to Get Down!

 

Why would you start a WBAYDN with a beer from last night?

 

Sadly, the 16 tasted a tad off.....sour apple on the nose and the finish.

Actually, this wasn't a drain pour because I absent mindedly drank it while reading another BA thread - as it approached room temperature it also approached drinkability. Still 'way too fizzy! Nice label though.

A night cap was an all-time favorite sipper. Never can have too many J.W. Lees. One of the great English BW's ever brewed.
