Morning BA's, and Happy Friday and July 1st!

Happy that I am off until next Tuesday....will be heading down to Mohican State Park and Forest in a bit - hopefully will find a campsite along the Clear Fork and do a bit of fly fishing for some trout down there...my daughter Chloe will be driving up from Columbus to meet me there later this afternoon, should be a nice day!

In the meantime....let there be beer!

    Tasty new Jackie'O's brew! Yum....

    Southern Tier Tangier IPA
    4.6%, moderate bitterness

Appearance: Light hazy yellow, good cap and lacing.

Aroma: Bright, citrusy, spicy hops with floral and fruit notes, some underlying malt.

Taste: Malt core of a little sweetness, hops forward but not dominant, the citrus comes through more in the taste than the aroma. Flavors nicely combined with good balance, clean finish and a bit of spicy hop aftertaste.

    Texture: Medium and rounded.

Overall: Well made and refreshing, leaning more toward the Session moniker than IPA. Summer style for lack of a better word (or better thought) and interesting enough to buy more.

    Good Morning BA Land!

I had every intention of posting these yesterday, but napping was more important. After posting my first two yesterday morning, I had some breakfast, then a little nap. The cousins kids came over, so I made chicken quesadillas for lunch. After lunch, I went with them to our pool to "help" watch them. Mostly, I had a Roughtail Everything Rhymes with Orange and took another snooze. It was hot, but worth it.

When the kids left, I took a shower and had another little siesta (Noticing a pattern?). After a great dinner of shrimp and salad, I decided to compare my Dragon's Milk Reserve to the regular. I'd have to say that I was tremendously disappointed, as I didn't notice much of a difference in the two. :slight_frown:

All in all, family, plenty of sunshine, five beers, three naps, and two great meals. That's a monumental day, to me! :grinning:

    That brings me to today.

After a walk around the neighborhood, I'm having a little morning coffee. I love this beer; Wiseacre's Gotta Get Up to Get Down!

Good morning BAs! Today's breakfast drain pour is:

Actually, this wasn't a drain pour because I absent mindedly drank it while reading another BA thread - as it approached room temperature it also approached drinkability. Still 'way too fizzy! Nice label though.

What I'm literally drinking this very second is:

Good morning BA's! Put back a few last night, getting the weekend started off early. Wishing everyone a great July 4th weekend. Cheers!

The BA Shipwreck Porter - lots of barrel character. Would bang again. Thanks to @Eddietudor25

This was my first time having the Triple-Mashed DM variant and it is defintely my favorite to date. Thanks @Eddietudor25

A night cap was an all-time favorite sipper. Never can have too many J.W. Lees. One of the great English BW's ever brewed.

Happy Friday BA's! Coming in early and strong today it looks like, but how about yesterday? Well, I gotta tell you all, the glasses came in hard early on! We had some serious contenders who stepped up their game, and even one member trying to "fish on" another award! (not mentioning any names...EHEM, @bowzer4birdie ). So anyways, The Glass of the Day Award goes to:
GotD: @dcotom ! He was not happy with an honorable mention, so he brought it with a 1-2 punch, which definitely payed off and made his $3 investment justifiable. Cheers and congrats!
2nd: Chalk up another winners circle appearance for @BeerVikingSailor for this awesome hefty, burly Anchor Mug. Quite fitting for any Viking Sailor.
3rd: And finally, give me a hand, BA's, and welcome the first ever brand new member (yesterday!) recipient of a GotD award, @Donkey_Hote for his pedestalled 20th ann. New Glarus Flute. Nice Glass...
Honorable mentions again go out to @dcotom for showing us what the world would look like if it were full of beer, and to @Cycle69 for his tulip that had a waist band on too tight for too long!

Congratulations, Cheers, and I'll see you all soon!

Wife is out early for groceries, so checking in with a Cumbre Malpais Stout - nice and roasty, about 6 months of age, perfect. Love it this way... not sure what to make of the purists on 'when' the beer is being reported/drunk, but hey... to each their own. This is delicious. Cheers all!

Impressive indeed. As I have stated before, the many, many members of the GotD Staff work meticulously on being fair, honest, and accurate in its almighty judginess, and after much deliberation just could not justify awarding the same glass twice. All complaints and/or suggestions may be submitted here: GotD//:blahblahblahblahblahblahblah :grinning:
