Tallgrass Half Pipe Tart Pale Ale

Appearance: Light yellow with small cap and little lacing.

Aroma: I get a very clean citrus scent, predominately grapefruit, along with something darker like an evergreen forest. No malt to speak of.

Taste: I don't know what tart beer is supposed to taste like but this stuff is tart under any definition. Malt is present in feel like the trunk of a tree that grows lemons, limes and tart apples. Yes, that's it, tart green apple skin without any sweetness. This is a controlled tartness, full without being overbearing. Tart's mostly what I'm getting but it's more complex than I'm making it sound. Some pleasant lingering aftertaste that has the sharpness of lemon zest.

Texture: Thinnish but has some body.

Overall: About what I expected, a lighter 5% brew that's fairly well made around the tart theme. Not my cup of tea but I can see why it's popular. An example of something I wouldn't have paid much attention to in the past, but reading about this style on BA piqued my interest in at least trying some.

Good morning BAs! And good early afternoon @Shanex! Today's breakfast beer was:

Passable, but it would be useful if it had some date on the bottle. Thanx to @JouerAvecLeFeu for starting today's thread - I'm now on beer #2 Founders Sumatra Mountain. No pix - my limit is 1/day.

Back after the weekend. Drank some beers, but was having too much fun and forgot to take pictures. I went to Fossil Cove, Ozark, Bike Rack, and New Province. Bentonville Brewing was going to be at the 4th festival in Bella Vista, but it was rained out. I was looking forward to getting a beer or two from them while waiting for the fireworks. :slight_frown:

Took care of this crowler last night; Fossil Cove Tripel.

It rained very hard here this morning, but it has finally quit. After a quick walk, a little morning coffee.

This duo plays at Ozark every so often. I've seen them two or three times and they've always put on a great show. Unfortunately, they were in a very bad accident on the way to a show out in California last month. Ozark had a benefit for them Sunday. Hopefully, it won't be long until they're back making people happy with their music. Aloha

Beer is good. Beer is for drinking. Beer is for sharing.
