I was sad to see it go as I used it for quickly looking up ratings of beers I am considering buying. It takes me longer to bring up the BA web page on my phone, and I have a newer phone - so not a phone or coverage issue. The app was not perfect, but faster IMHO for looking up ratings. Looks like posting on the forums is better with the web interface. While the web interface is more complete, it is hard to beat the speed of apps for specific things. I would welcome the app back.

I miss the app too. Convenience of quickly looking at ratings or quickly looking for places was nice. It's not really that much worse to do it on the site now that there is no other option. But I do miss the quickness and ease of the app. Maybe it's still in the works.

They have stated unequivocally that the app is gone for good, so they can concentrate on the web interface.

Well, then that does stink if they stick to their word on it.

I agree, the app was great for looking up beer ratings while at a bar or a store.

The new site is probably better for everything else, but is a struggle to quickly look up beer ratings. I wish they had kept the app around for this or create a new one for only this purpose.

I rarely used the app. Only for the "Nearby" feature. I really hope they build that into the website.

Miss some of the features of the app, but find in general the site works pretty good on my phone. I had pretty much switched over to the site before the redo because for some jackass reason my cell provider signal didn't work good enough for the app but the website would display.

Very much would like the return of the app, used it as much as any app I had for reading release articles and looking up beers for purchase

Discontinuing the app seems like a poor choice. WIthout the app, I suspect that I will stop using this site. I would like to see the app return.

I didn't use the app every day, but it definitely came in handy at stores when I was deciding what to pull the trigger on. Accessing the website on my phone just isn't as quick and easy. I was sad to see it go, and I'd like to see a retooled app come back in the future.

I agree about the Nearby feature. It was very useful and not available outside the app.

I was 50/50 app and website on my phone. The only thing I liked better in the app was the super quick auto suggestions as you typed in the search bar. Hopefully they can bring this functionality to the website search.

I thought I'd miss the app but to be honest, the layout and functionality of the mobile version suits me even better than the app ever did.

I miss the app! It wasn't perfect but it was definitely better than having to go to the site and sign in with a two step verification every time.

I'll second this and top against the majority of people in this thread.

I thought I was going to miss the app, but I actually love the mobile site way WAY WAY better than the app. Its so much easier to do anything now, but particularly i've found it so much easier to participate in the forums, post pictures, review beers, etc. As for looking up beer ratings, its pretty much the same system for me - the BA page is open on a tab on my phone and I click search and type the beer name in, hit enter, and voila, there it is.

The ONLY thing that I miss is the "nearby" feature and they've already said that will be in the new updates in the near future. I think the new format is so much better than an app since its not android/apple specific and works the same for everyone.

I've been using BA less and less frequently since the app went away. Yes the app was extremely limited and definitely flawed, but it was useful for quickly looking up ratings or check in on conversations. Having to constantly log in through the browser is just obnoxious.

I guess I am not understanding what issue people are running into with logging into the site every time the launch the app. I signed in and checked the box and then dropped a shortcut on one of my home screens. Click on that shortcut and it comes straight up to the search. I haven't been prompted to login since the site change.

Really missed this app this weekend while traveling, the past few times I have went out of town I used the nearby feature and for me it was much easier to quickly check reviews.
