    Back with another one.

This is Westbrook's latest twist on a gose - Key Lime Pie Gose.

Very cloudy with a small one finger head that disappears in an instant, but aromas and flavors bring that big sour lime and lemon you might expect. Just a touch of sweetness that makes you imagine the key lime pie. Very nice complement to a hot summer day!

I grew up in a desert, so I tend to think I know heat, but to me that Southern humidity is a whole 'nother level of misery. I honestly don't think I could hack it where you live.

Are their beers widely distributed around NE? I really want to try them. I hear such good things and they always look tasty in people's pictures.

Good Hot NBS Evening to you all and Thank You Maria for the interesting and informative kickoff again. Well another day another incident involving guns and unnecessary killing. Its getting to the point I don't want the tube on anymore. But how can we ignore this shit? Anything we can do to live in peace and get along I'm all for. After all we are all here for a limited time and there is nothing anyone can do to stop time. So we need to enjoy it together while we can. Which is why BA and NBS is so great. People from all over the country and world getting together to have a virtual beer together- Taking our minds to a different and happy peaceful place. I'm no peace freak either but we need things like this.....

    BREAKSIDE BREWERY WANDERLUST IPA

Pours a clear burnished gold color with an off white 1/2" head that lingers leaving a spotty world map lacing as the liquid recedes.
Light color leads me to believe this going to be on the lighter malt side. (West Coast oh yeah, Doh!)

These I like to stick my nose right in the bottle top immediately after popping- Getting the classics: Grapefruit and Pine with a good dose of mango and pineapple. Very strong and lasting aroma.

Taste naturally follows with similar characteristics- Citrus and pine with tropical flavors. Floral/grass. Very little malt presence at all. Little to no sweetness. Perfectly bitter. Tastes fresh with no visible date on bottle Very good. Really enjoying this one, lingering mouth filling flavor

Feel is very dry with good carbonation and a slight stickiness from fresh hops I assume? Super thirst quenching on this hot day.

The second of two beers I have tried from this brewery recently available here on the East Coast. Classic west coast style accentuating the
hops of the Northwest- An excellent reminder of where it all started. This ones in the running for top IPAs- Haze/Schmaze this says to New England. Highly recommended- especially with a reasonable price tag.
Two buds bloomed on my 7 foot tall butterfly bush and I've already seen something I thought couldn't be topped from last year. A fantastic Monarch with brilliant colors- unblemished with a wing span of around 5" just an hour ago - nerd alert.
    So for NewOldVinylSunday-
Enjoy your Summer week and always thanks for your posts and taking the time.

Alright, back again! This time with Castle Island's first foray into the sour beer realm: Jetty, a Citra-dry hopped, kettle-soured pale ale with coriander added.

Pours a very solid looking, medium-translucent yellow color with a fairly-retentive though modest head. Carbonation seems pretty active and the hazy look is attractive and reminds me of plenty of goses and other pale sours on the market.

Nose is tart lemon, citrus and light tropical fruit (mango/pineapple), slight wheat and some interesting farmhouse-y funk I wasn't expecting. A bit catty/dank from the Citra as well. Overall seems pretty simple but effective.

Flavor is definitely lacto-forward with a big hit of tart citrus up front, kind of tangerine-like and slightly sharp. Middle of the palate sees some wheat and other malty notes poke out before a zippy, pineapple-lemon laden finish closes out each sip. Juicy as hell without any actual juice... good job guys! This is a very nice little beer. At only 4%, it's totally crushable and it even comes in 16 oz cans. I don't get too much coriander, but I'm actually glad about that because I find it overbearing in some "gose" styles out these days... first batch of Jammer was a coriander bomb, in my opinion, and it really made it a tougher drink than it should've been. Not sure that there's salt in this, so I guess it isn't really a "proper gose" but it's somewhat close anyway. Reminds me a little of The Wind by Lost Nation, though the last bottle I had of that was very meh... first time I had it on tap at the brewery was fantastic though, and that's what I'm basing my reference on.

Listening to a truly experimental, deranged black metal album by Jute Gyte. Perdurance is the title, and it is truly an unhinged work. Combining aspects of microtonal composition with slight IDM influence all on top of a distorted, jumbled mass of evil riffs, JG has definitely made some of the most intense and harsh music I've heard so far this year. This is one of those albums that I find surprisingly catchy in spite of its dizzying insanity, however. Luckily for all fans of the avant-garde and leftfield side of music, this album is available for free on Bandcamp.

There's funny, and then there's "Who are you?! Take me to the real beertunes, you body snatching alien!"

At least you didn't go on to start raving about your love for bombers. Then I'd know you were truly gone.

Foam is definitely talented folks making inspired beers. Since you thanked me only fair to give thanks where they truly belong, to @DrunkinYogi who turned me on to Foam. I seriously can't wait to go there again this fall, and your post just makes me more desirous.

Quick shout out to all of you, you're bringin' it (just like every other Sunday)!

I see a lot of beers I want to try. Some I've never heard of before, some I can pick up locally but haven't gotten around to yet, and some are old favorites I need to hit again. Keep up the great work!

Still at it here NBS players. Threw some burgers, and fresh local corn on the grill for dinner. Now I'm having my desert.

I'm onto my second beer from Flying Monkeys in god damn Canada. The beer is The Chocolate Manifesto, a triple milk stout that is brewed with three kinds of chocolate. The beer checks in at 10%abv with no apparent bottle date.

The pour is black with fast carbonation and a tan head. The nose is full blown chocolate and pretty damn floral at that. Big time malts upfront on the initial sips with lots of lactose. Very smooth, creamy, and sweet on the finish. Tons of chocolate taste hit with a sort of blend of milk chocolate, chocolate malt, and milk sugar. Nice flavor tones of chocolate, and vanilla. The mouth feel is pretty moderate and even a bit light. It could use a bit more stick. The 10% isn't even noticeable.

Overall, this is a good desert beer for chocolate lovers for sure. It's well made, drinks well, but it just doesn't blow my mind. I'm right around a solid 4 on it.

If I'd had those things to deal with, I might have been a bit snarly to the wedding folks, I have to admit, or at least been distant in matters of giving a damn. Sounds like he did sterling work with the younger folks, too.

Unfortunately, one of the side effects of living for a while is seeing these things happen to your friends and family. I'm old enough to know that, but still young enough that I know I'll be seeing a lot more of it. Just have to try to enjoy every bit you can with those you love.

Thank you, and all the NBS crew, for giving me place where I felt comfortable sharing. Those of us who been active on this thread for more than a few years have been through a fair bit together: Births, Deaths, Education, Jobs, Changes, all the aspects of modern life, we've shared 'em all here amongst the magical electrons that make up the intratoobz. Thank You, again, to all of you.

Sure you could. You'd slow down a bunch, like sweet tea, pork barbecue, and begin to speak, slowly, in newer and newer dialects.
