    Morning guys, Happy Saturday!
Wish I knew I was gonna open this post as I had Beaus Wag The Wolf, hopfenweisse earlier. Now I'm having a molson export... Oh well. Saving the new beers for tomorrow! Cheers!

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Stormy day in the forecast today. Looks like I will be staying around here. I have a batch of session cyser that needs to be made anyways. Been a few months since I fermented anything, so I had to make something. I have 2 empty kegs right now. Beers this morning:

Incredible gose as always. Flavors of big sour cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, wheat, cracker, coriander, sea salt, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice sized fruity/lactic sour finish; balanced cherry/lacto acidity, salinity, and light grainy wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel. Highly drinkable despite higher acidity. I wish this was year round. So much fantastic sour cherry flavor for the low ABV. I just grabbed 2 more 4 packs yesterday from a store that still had them sitting around.

My go-to Oatmeal stout. Flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted oats, dark bread, and nutty malts; with light licorice/molasses notes. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast malt bitterness. Medium bodied creamy/silky and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel. This is always awesome.

Excellent stuff as always. Flavors of juicy pineapples; with hop flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine; with light-moderate honey/bready malt and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness; smooth and crisp finish; moderately sticky/resinous mouthfeel. Good dryness on the finish with zero hop or fruit astringency. I wouldn't put this over Regular, Grapefruit, or even Habanero; but I still love it. Great balance of the pineapple puree and classic Sculpin hop character; with good hop vibrancy.

Been a couple years since I last had this one. This is an insane Scotch ale! Flavors of big caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, chocolate, cocoa, raisin, plum, fig, and cherry; with lighter notes of leather, tobacco, smoke, coffee, and herbal/woody hops. Light herbal/spicy balancing bitterness on the finish; full bodied, creamy/silky mouthfeel with some light sticky/chalky hop/roast malt notes as well. Slightly drying. Only 9 months old on this bottle, and it is still amazing. Only gets better with time. Bigger dark fruits and deeper melanoidin complexity after a few years. Will have to sit on a bottle for a while. My review was with a 2-3 year old bottle 2 years ago. This still has a decent hop presence, but it is in no way overdone for the style. Will have to check out the other Alesmith big bottles soon, glad we get them in MI now. Pretty much all of them are fantastic.

Good morning, BA's. We're in North Carolina this weekend to visit our daughter. Yesterday, on the drive down, we stopped in Virginia and I picked up some Jai Alai and Maduro, which I can't find at home, so I'm substituting my usual pre-breakfast orange juice. I'd forgotten how good this stuff is! Later today, I'll be seeking out some local beer to take home - one advantage to driving rather than flying. Enjoy your day and your beer, everyone!

    The hop is Hallertau Blanc.
    The malt is 2 Row
    6.5% ABV
    45 IBU
    6 SRM

Very nice almost chardonnay type quality to this hop in flavor and dryness. Pungent but somewhat sweet. Im not getting lemongrass as suggested but theres a big marijuana type smell, very similar. And very floral. Poured it last night and the lacing was thick and outrageous. Creamy beer.
From last night's pour. Pretty hazy, categorized as a Golden Ale. The head and lacing reminds me of Guinness in a way. Cant wait to get into the other varieties.

    Cheers.

Doing a little tasting later this afternoon, and was going to abstain this morning. But, this day started off poorly and it seems a correction is necessary.

Stayed up late watching Trainspotting and Reservoir Dogs and chatting with an old friend in CA, hit with a 730 roust by the three year old. Anticipating the wake/funeral service later today of a great guy I've known more than half my life. This may or may not be the right way to start the day, but I'm not going to debate with myself this early.

Good morning BAs! It's a rainey day here in NW PA and cold - must be in the low eighties. Today's breakfast beer:[IMG]

Nasty! Be warned – even if you really like caramel, this may be too much. This is as sweet as ST’s Crème Brulee – even if you aren’t diabetic you may need to borrow some insulin from a diabetic friend. Did I say this was sweet? And what are the impurities in Himalayan pink sea salt that make it pink? Do we really want to ingest this? And how about that “Natural Flavor”? What flavor is it – is it just more caramel or is it something more sinister lurking in the background? This is my 20th ST beer reviewed on BA (out of 31 total tried) and I still can't feel confident trying an unknown ST beer. I want to like them since they're only 68 miles away but their styles vary too widely for me.

Drinking to hoping the rain will end. Setting up for my son's outdoor bday party. Beer makes this more tolerable.

I pretty much end each night with a dose of MST3K, following (usually) the watch it together (WIT) selection of the night - unless it's "Side Hackers", then I watch my all time favorite "The Giant Gila Monster".

I am on a Three Notch'd kick, I guess. After two [half] growlers last night, I decided to pop this one from the fridge. It was sitting out of the fridge for a couple months, then in for another.

Jack's Java - 5.5ish% Espresso/Oatmeal Stout - Big on the roast, and the espresso adds a sharp bitterness before taking over with the strong coffee flavor. The oatmeal and bittering roasted notes are a bit rough on the palate, but it needed waking up this AM, anyhow.
