Good Friday morning BA's! I'd like to first thank @cjgiant for hosting a fun and successful Throwback Thursday, and @LeperJim for the artwork of course. Cheers to you fine Gent's for yet another contribution to true advocacy! In the spirit of TbT, the GotD Staff has decided to honor the pleasantries with some wonderful vintage submissions in today's installment of the Glass of the Day Awards!

GotD: Good to see @TongoRad dust off his Budweiser seidel styled glass, and post up with a true throwback for (probably) most us, in good ol' Americana fashion! (Remember: every glass counts! ) Cheers and congrats!
2nd: Another stunner displaying some more Americana, serving plate and all, @Prager62 for this Schlitz post. Though this glass has seen success before (different member), this post could not go unrewarded.
3rd: @LeperJim , your hard work has payed off. Another proper post with a classic "Fine Ale". I'm inspired to go to my favorite English pub and grab a pint of some Old Speckled Hen in my near future.

Honorable Mentions goes out to @dcotom for another fine Grolsch tankard, and to @Ozzylizzard for a proper Wurzburger beer and ceramic mug with some other fine steinware (and a thank you for your service ).

Triple C Brewing's 3C IPA - Hop bitterness is prominent and persists. Tasty!

 

With the serious part of my day behind me, it's time to embrace Friday and say hello to the weekend. I received a very generous and diverse box of beer from @guinness77 on Wednesday and he posted this beer the same day. It must be a sign to start with it!

A fresh pint can dated 08/02/2016 of Crucial Taunt DIPA from Veil Brewing Co. of Richmond Virginia. A big whiff of hops as soon as I opened it and a mountain of frothy foam with loads of complex juicy hop flavor. A new beer, from a new to me brewery made possible by a upstanding member of our community and regular on this thread. Thank you very much Chuck, I can't wait to dive into the rest!



Some cool artwork on the label that brought this song to mind. Going to finish my beer and do the official review.

 

@Prager62 anytime and a pleasure to see you enjoy it. This guy, ladies and gentlemen, is as true a beer advocate as they come. Cheers, Jim, I'll be joining the rest of you in this thread later today, for sure.

 

Trying some new brews today. First up, Short's Soft Parade, a high gravity ale fermented with blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and raspberries. Gotta let this one warm up a bit...

Is this just fantasy? (sorry, couldn't resist there)

 

Drinking a Swedish 4.5% "Bitter ale" hopped with Cascade and Chinook. The taste and smell reminds me a bit of Duvel of all things, which I had a few days ago. Must be something about the yeast I suppose, or the yeast in combination with those American hops. Not what I was expecting, but I enjoy the flavor.

Coupla cool movie trailers, if superhero movies are up your alley...

I'm not a DC guy but Wonder Woman looks totally hot... er, I mean, the movie looks really interesting... And Justice League looks really cool, too...

'Specially Aquaman (who'll have his own movie in 2018, directed by James Wan), played by Khal Drogo Jason Momoa...

After work at midnight will be trying a new beer. Claremont Brewing Grapefruit IPA. Must be a new offering since there is not a single rating yet here for it here on Beer Advocate so looking forward to it. But if it turns out to be a drain pour I have as a backup The Calling from Boulevard Brewing which is one fine fine IPA. Cheers to all my fellow Hop Heads out there.
