Haven't seen a post on the last thread since around 8pm my time, so since it's after midnight here, may as well start up a new one! Currently enjoying an Apple Brandy Noir. Happy to see this one show up on the shelves here. My only complaint is that it's a bit steep, $17. Not sure if that's on par with what others are paying or not, but I've had other BA Prairie beers that cost less. Either way, it's damn delicious!

Morning . Happy new Beer Sunday . . . clickety clack , clickety clickety . . . Welcome back @Roguer ! There are new style guidelines and I am using the old. I think they are good enough and that they should continue to be good enough. That makes me a curmudgeon. There are some new styles and some differences in the definitions. How can their be any differences in the definitions of the style? So now my guidelines are history? Yes. They are. But the idea is that as we drink the beer you will tell me about it.

These are magic beers. I bought six, and they disappeared. So I bought six more and they did it again.

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Glad I am out of my brewing slump as I made a saison yesterday, and I should be making some more beer next weekend as I have 4 cases of bottles I can fill, and a second empty keg.

    Beer this morning:

Incredible American porter as usual. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted dark bread; with moderate herbal/spicy/light citrusy hop flavors. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roasted bitterness on the finish. Smooth/creamy/lightly silky mouthfeel; with some hop/roasted dryness. Always amazing stuff. Pretty much the definition of the American porter style for me.

Incredible pumpkin ale! Flavors of huge pumpkin, clove, allspice, caramel, brown sugar, gingerbread, toast, cinnamon, nutmeg, and herbal spice earthiness. Balancing herbal/spice bitterness against sweetness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced malt creaminess and spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Fairly drying spice finish. Glad we get these in state now, one of the best pumpkin ales I've had. I'd still put this up with pumking overall, but for a different reason. This is probably the most authentic actual pumpkin fruit forward beer I have had; while Pumking is just straight up biscuity pumpkin pie flavors with solid actual fruit notes.

This years batch is tasting awesome. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, peat smoke, brown bread, nuttiness, toasted oak, vanilla, maple, raisin, fig, date, juniper berry, and pepper/clove yeast spice. Light-moderate herbal bitterness and spicy yeast finish; with an awesome balance of malt sweetness and yeast/oak character. Medium-full bodied creamy mouthfeel and a touch slick/syrupy. I hope they release this again next year. This one ages amazingly.

Fantastic as usual. Flavors of nutty dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, toffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, bourbon, oak, and light dark fruit. Light roasted bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium-full bodied with a great creamy/silky mouthfeel. Love all the variants of dragons milk; this one is a bit like KBS in a way. Will grab plenty more next time they release it. I always end up stocking up on all the variations anyways. Coconut Rum barrel variation is coming up soon.

Central Waters Octoberfest in a 1960's West Germany stein. The beer is too sweet for the style IMO.

    Happy Stein Sunday, BA's

Drag out and dust off your old steins, and let's show off some nice Oktoberfest brews and steins as well!

Only problem with these, is you cannot see the color of the beer!

Delish on a cool first Sunday of autumn!
