So, for reasons I don't want to get into because it might lead us off topic, I would like to do something to support ABI. Around Super Bowl time. But, sadly, I am not a fan of AALs, especially not in winter time. I suppose some would suggest one of those Bourbon County beers, but I want something easily available, and not costing an arm and a leg. I am thinking this would be a good time to get Sophie or Matilda, or both?

why not take the money you were Going to spend on Goose Island and donate somewhere it will do some good. That seems more impactful than purchasing something from a multi billion dollar corporation.

Stella, Becks, St Pauli Girl, Blue Moon are all decent enough brews, easy to get just check dates.

Blue moon is coors, op wants to support ABInbev for some reason. I agree with SammyJaxxxx. Also if your reason for support is the immigration thing, better check out the true story as posted by @JackHorzempa in a different thread before you get mislead by a multi-million dollar ad campaign

He only asked about some decent ABI beers that are better than AALs and not expensive. That's it, I didn't try and read anything else into his question.

The only part of my answer that was directed to you was the fact that blue moon is not a abi beer. The 2nd part of my reply was directed at op

Man. I thought I was getting a deal when they got bought out.. Instead they are pushing $13/sixers. They entered my state with a IPA trial run, and give us this crappy deal.... To add, the beer was already 5 weeks old.

For comparison, Bp started at $15, with locals starting as low as $8.And many regional giants at $8-$10.. Locals usually go no higher than $10, and are within a week of canning/bottling.

For another comparison, DFH just entered my state and 60 minute IPA is $12/sixer.

    Who are they kidding?

THe local breweries HAVE to be loving this.

Gone are the days of national breweries charging less than local.

    I love it.

Economies of scale is a farce when you have greedy owners

I drink beer anyway. And defeating hate is more important to me now than my desire to lessen the role of Big Beer in the beer market (don't worry, I still drink plenty of small and local)

I read Jack's review of the history of ABI. Its not the accuracy of the story, it's doing this ad, now.

And what the hell is mid market if they are charging the same or nearly the same as local? Do you work for ABI? (the whole BCBS 12oz to 16.9oz price increase with fancy ass bottles was done so smoothly. But most can see through the shit.)

I see local taps that have GI Ipa for the same price as local (the kicker is that they get the IPA kegs for almost half the cost of others). But since consumers are generally stupid, the bars win out as they still charge the same price, and the beer ultimately sells

I know full well that Blue Moon is Coors (and have posted about the issue of their "craftiness" before.) I also think of Stella and Becks as more suitable for warm weather.

Big beer sells close to 90% of the beer in America. They don't need your support, and if they wanted to get political or philanthropic, there are plenty of million dollar checks they could afford to write to those who can do something with it.

Buy good beer, and if you want to support a cause, donate to charity, not ad campaigns.

I actually like the goose winter ale. It's a solid spiced brown, very drinkable and a great winter party beer.

Sofie is good. Goose IPA is decent enough. Honkers Ale is worth drinking. In any event, I'd probably go with something Goose Island.

Buy a 30 rack of Busch if you really want to support their flagship brands. You can give me 15 of them if need be.
