Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Got some overtime work to do from home this weekend to meet some goals for Monday morning, will be splitting it up between today and tomorrow. I'll be happy once everything gets straightened out. I got 2 extra programs piled onto me last month. I'd rather not work on the weekend, but extra money is okay with me. I have been basically doing the work of 2 people for the last month and a half.

Amazing DIPA! Glad I keep finding more singles of this. Flavors of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; moderate honey, light caramel, and lightly toasted biscuit malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, and peppery/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; balanced sticky/resinous hops and grainy/bready malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Increasingly drying resin finish; minimal hop astringency. Just flat out incredible. Insanely bright and dank on hops; nice malt backbone without being sweet. Nice mix of earthy, citrusy, and tropical hop varieties.

Incredible batch this year. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, cream, nutmeg, chile pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted brown bread, and light char. Light roast/spice/charred bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; great creamy/silky mouthfeel, with some light sticky/chalky roast/spice notes as well. Lightly increasing dryness. Zero pepper heat. Balance is pretty much perfect between spices and stout flavors. Made sure to grab 2 6 packs this year. There might be some stil lingering around, will grab more if I see it.

Awesome Russian imperial stout, 2015 batch. Flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, caramel, toffee, molasses, and light smoke/char malt; with a bit of raisin, prune, fig, date yeast fruitiness. Light vanilla, nutty, and herbal/spicy hop notes. Bittersweet balanced roast/char finish. Full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel; a bit slick with some light chalky roasted dryness. Warming but smooth finish. I should get this more often, really classic tasting RIS all around. Older vintages sit on the shelf all over the place around here.

Revisiting this review after over 5 years, finally have access to the Fantome stuff again. This is fantastic! Aromas and flavors of big lemon, orange, peach, apricot, strawberry, pineapple, pear, apple, white pepper, clove, citrus peel, hay, straw, floral, grass, and funk; with some honey, cracker, bready malt balance. Moderate peppery yeast spice and light acidic/tangy tartness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced bready/grainy malt, yeast/spice stickiness, and light acidity in the mouthfeel. Fairly crisp and refreshing. This wasn't as mind blowing as my 2011 review would indicate, but this is still incredible all around. Amazing yeast complexity and balancing malt character; while still remaining nicely drying, spicy, tart, and funky; despite having fairly modest carbonation. 4.3

Picked this up last night at the grocery store for $10.99. Release #73 is tasting thicker and more barrel forward than past batches I've had. I may have to go back and grab another. Time to get some things done around the house. Cheers to the weekend!

Good morning, BAs! Saw that this was going to be my 4500th post. How have you guys dealt with the inanity for 4500 posts???

Feels like it's been a while since I did an early Saturday morning coffee stout. Definitely been a while since I had Rise Up R.I.S. from Evolution, inspired by the Lot 3 I had before Thursday's Caps game. This is a nice coffee beer, grab it if you get a chance!

    Happy Saturday BAs!

A fun weekend is on tap. Having friends over for our occasional 'Bad Movie Night' later. We've done quite a few but this time it is a classic of the B movie world - 'The Room'. I just finished reading The Disaster Artist and can't wait to rewatch this top notch cinematic masterpiece to pick up on the green screen cityscapes and mercurial directing work.

To warm up for the day I am doctoring a 2015 KBS with a swirl of Blis BBA Maple Syrup. The old homemade CBS light version! Given that the coffee has fallen off a bit this is a little bit of a sweet kick to proceedings.

I am still lamenting the loss of my beloved KBS glass but I know a new one is in my near future

[IMG] Snow predicted the next 3 days, probably another foot or more coming, so I will milk this tasty treat the next few hours. Going to play in the snow with the kids in a little while. A rare day that we have nothing to do all day.

[I failed. Do not like this. But last night had a Melvin Hubert Pale Ale, then a Bell's Two Hearted, moved on to the VERY tasty Fremont Lush IPA and then came full circle back to a Melvin 2x4. yummy. Now carry on with the winning drinking in live time. Nods in apology. I suck.]
