aside from the joke, it would be a perfect set of beers to have in 375s. this question is almost always on their survey, yet nothin has changed

Well, maybe they want to make sure there's sustained long term interest. I assume it would be a large expense to do up front.

There's no disagreement here, but I'm always afraid of breweries putting their beer in smaller bottles. When they shrink their bottles they end up selling you less beer for more money, case in point: Firestone Walker.

I would personally buy more bottles if they were 375s, even if they cost per ounce went up (within reason). My problem is finding a reason the crack a 750 of 20% beer. I don't drink everyday, so the weekday beers are more special occasion beers for me. I have so many already I really only buy one or two a year now.

i might be one of the few that likes firestones move. granted would have been awesome if they moved to 4 packs like BCBS used to do but ive noticed ive been drinking more of them.

but for these experimentally verticals it just makes so much sense

Afraid of paying that extra $0.06 an ounce that Firestone Walker is charging?

Ok, when you break down numbers like that into oz of course it'll look small. Per bottle, that's like a $0.75 increase, which still doesn't sound like much, but after all is said and done, you're paying $1-2 more for the same amount of beer.

    HA!
That is funny. The big debate on this side of the country that Founders is charging MORE per oz with their 750's than their 12oz bottles for KBS. I still have yet to hear the logic in that.

Good thing I live literally in the middle of nowhere with no access to much of anything.

It makes sense, the more ounces you buy in a unit the cheaper per ounce it will be. They sell the 12oz in a 4 pack as 1 unit or a 750ml bottle as a unit so the 750 should cost more per ounce than the 4 pack.

    What? No.

It probably has to do with them knowing people will spend more on a 750ml bottle of KBS.

Yes that's how it works. The more ounces you buy as a unit the cheaper the per ounce price will be.

Yeah, I have yet to find a beer from any brewery where the 22oz or 750ml format is less expensive per oz than the 12oz format. It's all marketing.

Even the giant 3 liter Stone Double Bastard bottles are twice as expensive per ounce as buying bombers of the same beer.

Using that logic, the magnums and jeroboams would be cheaper by ounce, which is most definitely not the case.

    Isn't Chrono 12 BT = BT and Chrono 24 BT = BT Reserve ?

So we are just missing 6 ( I don't need this ). And 18 ( This would be nice )

The tasting room did a vertical last year of the full Chrono old ale series. It was nice to line them up and taste them side by side.

The Chrono Old Ale series is by far my favorite Chrono series so far ( based on what has been released so far ). I'm glad I picked up more in Dec when they released the full series in a set.

    Overall
    6 was very good
    12 was better
18/24 are excellent, I struggle to choose a winner.

Pretty much but BT Reserve is different because it was racked into fresh barrels at around the year mark so it's a double barrel. I think tasting BT at the 6, 12, 18 and 24 month mark in the original barrels like the Chronology series does would be fun.

Ah. Thanks for the clarification. I didn't know it was double barrel, thought it was single 24 . Still one of my favorite BT variants. I'm one of the rare people that prefers the BT barrel treatments, over adjuncts.

I would buy a bottle chrono BT 6.

But an 18 or 24, that would be hard to resist.

In regards to them not offering bottles in 375ml format, I think it has probably got to do with their current bottling lines not being able to support it. IIRC from the tour their bottling line cost close to a million dollars or something crazy like that so it would be quite an investment in capital and in space (if they needed to buy 2 more for clean and sour beers) to be able to offer a smaller format. I think it would be really nice for them to do smaller bottles though and would be happy if both 375ml and 750ml bottles were an option, but disappointed if they switched to only small format like FW.

no use in making the sours smaller format, just the weekday beers and similar high ABV stouts.
