Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Have the usual bottle returns, laundry, and double checking work emails again today. I did a majority of the work I needed to do yesterday to get it all out of the way. Should have more free time today.

5 year review revisit. This was amazing as usual. Amazing head retention and thick lacing on the glass. Flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, molasses, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, and dark bread; hint of smoke. Aromas were pretty muted, but nice and balanced. Bittersweet roast and lightly spicy oak/bourbon finish; with a creamy/silky/velvety full body; touch of chalky roast and tannic oak dryness. Minimal warming 11.8%; no barrel booze, though there is a tad in the aromas as it warms. Pretty much perfectly balanced between chocolate, coffee, malt, and barrel character. Glad I grabbed a lot this year. My rating went down, but this is still as amazing as it always is.

Fantastic DIPA. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with honey, toasted bread, light caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; balanced creamy and sticky/resinous mouthfeel; slightly slick. Increasing resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Minimal warming 9.5%. Glad I bought a full pack last month, would do again. Very dank and juicy; nice malt backbone, but never too sweet or heavy. Very drinkable despite a strong drying bitter/resinous finish. The Columbus, Centennial, Simcoe hop combo is delicious, and one of my favorite trios. Been drinking a lot of Green Flash and Alpine lately, since they have been much easier to find fresh. Glad the new VA brewery is up and running, and that is probably the reason.

Amazing batch this year, as usual. Flavors of huge cinnamon, mint, nutmeg, ginger, clove, vanilla, coffee, cream, and pepper spice; with balanced milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, fudge, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread malt sweetness. Light-moderate herbal spice and roasted bitterness; touch of char. Bittersweet balanced finish, with a fantastic creamy/silky/velvety full body mouthfeel. Some light sticky/chalky notes and dryness from the spices and roast malts. Very smooth with a small lingering warmth of alcohol and pepper heat. Super rich and decadent. Perfect balance of spices and stout flavors. One of my favorite spiced stouts along with regular Bomb. Still a bit left on the shelf, will grab more before it's all gone again. Need to review Pe-Kan real soon.

Haven't had this since I reviewed a 2010 in 2014. That being said, for being super fresh I love it! Will definitely grab more to age, over the 3 I have left. Aromas and flavors of huge raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted brown bread; with some herbal/peppery hops. Light-moderate herbal/spicy balancing hop bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied with a nice creamy mouthfeel; lightly slick with sticky hops. Lightly increasing sticky hop dryness. Mild/pleasant warming ABV, no booziness. I really don't understand the widely accepted notion that this is jet fuel unless it's over X amount of years old. This is less than 3 months old, and is one of the smoothest tasting 15% beers I've ever had. This has a lot of similar complexity of an English Barleywine with the added fruits, with enough hop character to feel American on style; without being super bitter/resinous like most of the classic American styles. Really well balanced, kind of a style hybrid of sorts. Will have to revisit some World Wide real soon. Seems like all of the recent big beers from DFH have been smoother after much less age than expected. Maybe it's just me.

I'll bet you did not know that the parsley you never buy is just like sage in that you can crisp it with only a little oil, salt and pepper and it's darn tasty. This is my second batch of home made ricotta. Why do anything else? Except make food and drink beer. This is pizza with ricotta and parsley, paired with Guinness Blonde Lager. Parsley goes with apples. Cheers BA!

    Ok @Ozzylizard Here it is!

Waiting until our normal brunch place opens, decided to have a little sour juice to counter the roasted bitterness from the Irish dry Stout that started the day over on NBS.

The last of the Sur Citra is funkier, Hazy Orange Tears is much fresher and therefore more vibrant, but also more tart/sour.

Definitely happy for a palate change after yesterday's ROWYBO malty goodness. Thanks @WesMantooth and @LeperJim and @Lingenbrau. Also happy annibeersary to the latter and @SawDog505 .
