So planning on brewing Sunday for the first time in 5 years. I went through all my equipment last night and my 25' immersion wort chiller had a split in the copper tubing.. Thanks Ex-wife. Anyways I need something new for Sunday, so I'm thinking Amazon (have prime). Any specific recommendations? Should I go with a bigger than 25' one? I have a 15 gallon brew kettle and do 5-10 gallon batches... Thanks!
This one seems to be a beast and should cool you down fast: https://jadedbrewing.com/collections/frontpage/products/the-king-cobra
Haha yes, does seem to be a beast, and a beastly price, even if I was willing to spend that much it ships in 2-3 weeks. I need one this weekend...
Cheaper and you should get in 2 days with Prime: https://www.amazon.com/Homebrew-Imm...915180&sr=8-3&keywords=wort+immersion+chiller
I was looking at that one, I guess I'll have to decide as to whether I will be brewing a lot of 10 gallon batches or not. I'd like the 50' one, but I didn't really want to spend that much right now.... I could upgrade later I suppose....
That one should get you through in a pinch. I converted to a counter flow chiller and am extremely happy with the results. Requires a pump and tubing but it is very efficient in cooling the wort, better than the IC I was originally using.
This is the one you really need...j/k https://www.amazon.com/Brew-Magic-C...491917886&sr=8-6&keywords=counterflow+chiller
If only the copper is split and you have all the fittings, you might consider a trip to Home Depot....
Sounds like a manly project.... How much is copper these days? Might be cheaper to do that, and if I were to buy a new one, couldn't I sell the old copper for scrap metal?
