First time post in this cluster of a message board

This will be my first DLD. I am attending with my wife and we are group C. After reading some comments about what time people are showing up I have a question. The website says Group C times are 1-3 PM. Does that mean I cannot get into the fest until that time or that's when I can actually go get my allotment? I'm sorry if that's an idiotic question but being my first time out there I want to know how this all plays out. Thanks in advance from a newbie.

 

I do bring stuff to munch on. It held me off anytime i needed to wait in line for food. I just can't help it...I need hot, delicious food when I'm buzzed.

 

No, you can enter at 9am as soon as the festival starts, and stay until it closes. The Group time is just when you have to line up to get your Dark Lord bottles.

 

You can enter the fest when the gates open at 9am. You can't get your allotment of Dark Lord until the time on your ticket, which is 1-3pm.

Also, plan on arriving a bit early as the lines to get into the fest take a bit.

I'm hoping they'll have Dark Lord Ice Cream again. I want to try it and have passed on it the last two years because it was just too damn cold and miserable for ice cream.

On the subject of food, I'm pretty sure I had Dark Lord poutine--or something similar--last year. It was delicious.

 

I forgot about those poutine fries! I want to try those. They looked really good.

 

Stupid question, and this may have already been brought up, does Group A have to line up in the North entrance? I was planning to stick with the South...

 

Not complaining, but when did They start allowing memes and gif's back on this forum?

 

You don't have to. They ask Group A to go to the North Gate to get them in faster and filter you straight into the bottle pickup line. At least one year they opened the South Gate around 30 minutes later than the North Gate.

But really if you want to hang out with South Gate peeps you can do that. Just like Group Es can get in the North Gate at 9am if they really want to.

 

I think we've determined that the answer is no.

 

They didn't.

 

The North gate was such a mess last year, I was in that line and it was awful. People going in the South gate were getting in earlier and there a bunch of really mad group A people. We shall see if/how they remedy that this year...
