So Otter Creek pretty much makes all hop forward beers these days so when I saw they put out a cream ale I jumped on it. Yeah it really does taste like an orange creamsicle beer. I dont know if any other brewery has attempted this spin on the cream ale before but its a winner in my book. I got it at Nikki's Liquors in Providence which is the only store in the area I have seen it at.

This kinda stuff and all the hard sodas coming out are just way too gimmicky for me to enjoy past trying them once.

I wonder if they get a new head brewer on board yet?

Its not too gimmicky. It still tastes like beer.

Could be a nice summer drinker, would like to try. The new-ish Sierra Nevada Sidecar (Pale w/Orange flavor) is a good one for warmer weather IMO.

Funny how beergeeks are quick to diss these types of beers but will line up & fawn over IPAs that literally taste like orange juice (not a pale with a citrus undercurrent).

    J. Wakefield Orange Dreamsicle is probably a similar brew. If this is similar, I would like a few for hot summer days.

I love the juicy new england style IPAs, but I realized the style has gotten a bit out of hand when I saw a picture of a breakfast in the Food section of the NY Times with a glass of orange juice and my first thought was "who drinks an IPA with breakfast?"

I had this as part of a mixed 12 pack that was otherwise all IPAs (BB, Free Flow & Daily Dose). I love creamsicles and am generally a sucker for orange flavor (I liked SN Sidecar quite a bit) but I thought this was just okay. The orange and vanilla flavor is not overdone at all, but it had something of a strange mid to aftertaste (and mouthfeel) that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

I'd happily buy the mixed 12 pack that included this again, but I doubt I would ever pick up a dedicated six pack.

I've heard about this from OC bartenders in the past. They've been perfecting it for a while since it was so well received on pilot and at the Fest. Cream Ale is looking to be a new trendsetter, and I've heard this is fantastic. Looking forward to trying it myself!

They've promoted their most senior brewer to head brewer - not brewmaster from what I've heard.

Always good when someone can be promoted from within. I dig it.

I recently tried Tangerine Cream from Station 26 Brewing out of Denver. I'm guessing this OC beer is very similar. I dug it, but not sure how many I'd want to drink in a row.
