$0.31 an ounce in a 4 pack $0.48 cents an ounce in the large format.

Does it cost 17 cents more an ounce to fill it in a large format bottle?

Is it wrong that I was kind of hoping for a 40 oz. format?

No idea on the truth, but usually the reasoning I hear is that the glass just costs more.

Different bottling set up too likely. Could be a slower filler, putting out less volume than the 12oz and more labor intensive, which would add to the choose

My uninformed opinion is that it's essentially consumer conditioning.

AKA, charging what the market will bear! (And, not undercutting the established price expectations.)

4 packs have more total volume, which "usually" yields a lower cost per unit. Another factor to take into account is expected product loss. If one out of every X bottles is messed up (under filled, not sealed correctly, etc), dealing with 22oz vs 12oz means a greater product loss.

Haven't even laid eyes on Doom in any format yet, so I doubt I'll see this one. (Only found Frootwood on tap too -- but KBS surprisingly is a shelf turd at certain grocery stores this year.)

I picked up a single Doom today even though I'm not an IPA fan. Have to try it. Same with DKML. Maybe I should hold onto the Doom and mix it with a DKML :grimacing:

There needs now to be a bottle-conditioned ale called Consumer.

Sounds like it's measuring at 14.2% out of the barrel.
