Beer Mongers (in York, PA area) was told around 2 weeks ago. They are 2 hours from Tired Hands so it's possible they're cutting off the distant ones first. Or TJ's just still has some leftover.

My local spot - Hulmeville Inn - just tapped the schwarsbier this morning, and usually gets a ton of Hands beers in. Would suck if that ends.

I can ask Pinocchio's next time I'm in, they usually have one on.

Liberty Taproom in Reading used to have a permanent HopHands line with 2-3 additional rotating Tired Hands draft lines. I have noticed there has been zero Tired Hands draft on for a few weeks now. Seems like they might have gotten 'cut' too.

What I'm hearing is they are cutting off the further locations first and will eventually cut out most others but maybe keep places like Station who they have a relationship with. Not to mention proximity since they deliver all their kegs themselves.

Still not sure how Pizza Boy still has it though.

@jojo2112 Do you know if there was a specific reason that had them decide to no longer distribute their beer? I can think of plenty reasons why this may be the case, but I am curious if you have any inside information on why the decision was made.

I don't have inside information other than what I was told by the people at one particular bar that got cut off, but it sounds like it's purely a financial decision. I mean, if you break it down...let's say they sell a 1/4 keg of Alien Church to a bar for $200 (I have no idea what they actually charge, but that is just a guess). That same keg could also produce 62 cans ($279 at $18/4 pack). And that number goes even higher if you sell at $7/pint in house. I know there is additional cost with the cans, but they are also self-distributing their kegs so have to pay someone (and pay for fuel) to get them out to all the locations.

They probably feel like they've established their brand (not only locally, but nationwide), and know people will travel from hours away for their beer, so why bother with the distribution? (Especially when their costumers are distributing for them via trades.)

If it means the beer in those kegs will go into cans that I can buy at the General Store any day of the week, by all means pull the draft accounts.

Just got back from picking up the aforementioned csa and in my quest to have at least one of the bottles in the general store I picked up Purpec and singing swans. Plenty of Purpec left. Also noticed at the bottom of a fully stocked hophands fridge they were selling cheese and bacon. The cheese is from the same farm that provides for the csa and I highly recommend.

Yep, I had it last Sunday. It looks like a normal hazy yellow Tired Hands IPA. I personally thought the squid ink would add some darker color but it did not at all. I cannot imagine they used a lot. And to be honest, it was the best IPA on the tap list that day, IMO.
