    Up and at 'em breakfast imbibers! A coffee ale this morning - Prairie's "Prison Rodeo":



    Some bitter hops, but more coffee forward. Nowhere near as robust as Stone's Mocha IPA. Still very good. Have a great Tuesday y'all!

    Local IPA from 450 North. The beers are ok but at least they're trying. Their can art is spot on however.

    What's going on fellow drinkers in the now? Having an amazing Belgian beer in anticipation of my upcoming excursion to Brussels for the big beer fest this weekend. Decided to go with a Belgian pour (@bartlebierle would be happy!). Cheers all!

    The explorer pack is in and I'm starting with this guy . . .

    Beautiful golden amber color, bright and clear, other brewers would do well to copy this appearance.

    Aroma is a somewhat muted caramel sweetness. Absolutely no off notes of any sort with an inviting offer of drinkability.

    Flavor is much like the aroma but richer with more depth. Some hop presence mid palate that recedes by the finish which is clean, quick, without a hint of bitterness of roasted malt or hops, and a slightly lingering note of malt richness. The aftertaste actually improves on the flavor.

    Can't find any fault with this one, just a solidly rich malty lager that's as determinedly bourgeois as a beer can get. I think I would get bored drinking it everyday but I could also do a lot worse.

    These Oktoberfest really go down easy. I am still going to miss my summer seasonals though.
