[IMG] Let's get to the point and roll another joint, you don't know what it's like. Rip Tom Petty, losing him is a huge loss. Brings me back to so many great elementary, high school, and college memories. Simpler times.

Good morning BAs, good afternoon to @JakeScully! Today's New Breakfast Beer is:

Just plain nasty! I rated this one 3.25, the lowest I've ever rated a Weyerbacher product. Who produces and sells an obvious winter warmer in the summer?

First morning with the baby in quite a while.

FBS is one of the very rare beers of which I will buy a case every year. Not only do I love it, but I know it will easily hold up over time. Granted, I typically run out of bottles long before the year is up .... :flushed:

    Cheers!

Back "home" after driving around nearby San Pedro this morning, enjoying coffee and pastries, then exploring Laguna Beach this afternoon. Now, my cheap go to on the back patio:

Laguna Beach, one kilometer down, at the foot of our hill:

And a beer after our beach walk at one of the several beach bars/restaurants that are part of the shopping mall/resort complex - an Alhambra Especial on tap:

The weather is great if not a little hot today, about 79, but there's a strong breeze off the sea, and low humidity. No photos, but the young women at the resort pool (behind the beer) sunbathe and walk to and fro topless...fun to watch the old British geezers (and me) comment on the scenery:sunglasses:

    Cheers from Estepona!

Going back through some Tom Petty on VINYL. You forget how many great songs he had. Dude had a long career, Track 7 Panic IPA.

Another cheap lager while I defrost some shrimp for the cats' dinner:

Mrs. Z got a bottle of Bombay Sapphire Distilled London Dry Gin, Vapour Infused, at the grocery store, so I'll be switching over (it's 6pm) to cocktail time - cheers!

Why can't more brewers produce IPAs like this?

Look at how bright it is!

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 white head over a very rare (for an IPA these days) super bright body with some very nice lacing. Nose of pine, tropical fruit, grass, and hay. Taste of all the above with a true carbonated feel that lasts 'til the bottom of the glass. Nice dry finish and overall, another fine example of a real, classic IPA from JK, JC, and the crew in Stowe, VT.

    Warm days wearing down . . .

Nice hazy light gold color with white cap.

Aroma first of flowers then lime zest, quite a refreshing combination. No hops that I can detect but a bit of sweet malt is evident.

Taste on entry is floral citrus quickly joined by honeyed malt. The zesty citrus is evident but flowers lead which by mid palate is joined by the mild malt. This is a refreshing brew that maintains these clean flavors into the aftertaste, without wandering off into bitterness or off flavors, nicely balanced.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Overall a fine example of a citrus flavored Kolsch with a zestiness rather than heavy lime presence and a floweriness that comes from, well, Chamomile flowers. I know all that sounds sorta light weight but this brew presents a balanced taste unmarred by any heavy handed influences. Nice tightrope act that it pulls off well.
