Good morning BAs! Another cold and overcast day here in NW PA. Today's New Breakfast Beer, thanks to @Dragginballs76 and NBS BIF #6:

 

Another new to me beer, "Cardenas Stout" by Cervezas Cardenas, Sevilla, SP:



Murky brown with tons of floaties. Roast veggies and slightly metallic. Watery and over carbonated. Off putting flavor. First drain pour here...boy, I miss my big, boozy stouts...

It was so cold this morning the cat wouldn't go out until the Sun warmed things. Feeling the crisp cool myself I pulled this from the regular stash. . .



A muted brown color with slightly orange highlights.

Aroma of roasted coffee. Some burnt toffee as well but all that covers up the hop scent.

Taste of roasted malt/coffee with a clean finish. Brewer says this is brewed with Vermont Maple syrup and brown sugar but I can't tell if that means before fermentation or is added afterwards. I don't get much in the way of sweetness that those flavorings would add because this brew tastes and finishes rather dry. Columbus and Fuggle hops are used for an IBU of 58 but they're so over layered by the coffeeish malt if I'd been told the IBU was half that I wouldn't have argued.

 

Took the dogs downtown this afternoon and got got in the rain; good time for a capacino and a beer:



Rain cut our trip short, and drove us home. Animals have been fed dinner. Now trying another new beer from Sevilla - Mond Rubia, by Cerveza Mond S.C.A.:



Barest hint of clove/spicy hop nose and taste. Just weak and watery - like an almost flavorless Belgian blonde. If you are looking for a Spanish pounder that is not a corny Lager, this is it! Cheers!

 

Mmm... midday lunch beer after an 8 mile Lakeshore trail run, at HA, their Vicious Pet IPA. Like a slightly junior version of the Space IPA. A little dirty, a little bitter, a little grain-malt on the back palate. Complete. *Burp* Cheers, and enjoy your beer today.
