    BEER! I like it the best of all the booze. There I said it. Cheers you all and Happy Christmas weekend. I am cooking all weekend and later today I will start with an old favorite saison.

    The Spaten has an expiry date of 8/ something of next year. I will buy every case one at a time.

    I agree with several other reviews that the Willett version is not as good as last year’s High West version. The barrel flavors are much more subdued, but overall it is a very good coffee stout with a little bit of a whiskey finish.

    Back so soon? Here we go! Today is the day for company and a nice roast of beef! This year I have been learning to make bread. I can do it. @cavedave even told me I could. Here is a salad I made with a kitchen gadget called the vegetti. I got the small vegetti not the big one because frankly who needs a big vegetti? I discovered that I despise raw zucchini noodles and so I put them on this pizza.

    Hennepin Saison

    Pours golden and yellow with a fat Belgian style head that falls well and leaves a little something behind. Clings in snow white sheets. Nose is lemon and cracker with a light sweetness. Grassy hops. Drinks bubbly and crisp and finishes malty with the taste of lemon peel. Bitterness to cleanse the palate. Cheers! Pairs well with my pizza!

    Happy Friday. The final dash to Christmas. I just survived the markets of Freiburg and should be finished with shopping. Time to sit down for a beer. This is a collab between Hoppin' Frog and Lerwig. It is Sippin' Into Darkness - a chocolate martini imperial stout. Produced in Norway, and rings in at 12%. Delicious stuff. Cheers!

    This one is pretty similar to the normal Helles by Weihenstephaner. Bit maltier, bit sweeter, bit spicier, but slightly less fruity. Nice, but I think I prefer the Helles, actually.
