Earlier today I went to a Geology Presentation/Hike on Mount Kessler. My Main takeaways besides a lovely hike on a Private Landtrust area: Mt. Keesler, not really a mountain, Geologically speaking, its an outlier. The Armadillos we have around here were only able to get this far north after a railroad tunnel was cut through the Boston Mountains.

Piney River Cerveza Rio ( Mexican Lager ) up now

Forgot to post this. If you have this please sit on it for at least 6 months as all I can taste is light rum. It’s good, but The Abyss are buried:

Now onto a local Crown Royal Bourbon Barrel variant of a pumpkin beer. Pretty damned good:

Really nice fruit stout this year as usual. Flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toasted dark bread, cream, light coffee, and lightly tart cherries/fruit skins. Bittersweet roast and lightly tart/tangy fruit finish. Great creamy and silky medium body; slight fruit acidity/chalky roast. Minimal dryness, no cloying sweetness. The past couple years of this beer feel like they toned down the cherry juice or something. I remember liking it, but it being medicinal at times; but it’s really delicious now. Well rounded sweeter stout complexities, with a pleasant accent of cherries. Grabbed a 4 pack of the BBA a couple weeks ago after the review. Still some of that around as well.

Tasting insane as usual, 6 weeks old. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with some light caramel/biscuity malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on finish. Medium bodied; sticky/resinous mouthfeel with a fair amount of balancing bready/grainy malt creaminess. Increasing resin dryness, never astringent. Super bright and dank on hops, extremely drinkable. Will always be a top favorite Ohio IPA, along with Columbus and White Rajah. Market Garden Citramax is a new favorite also. Still have a full 4 pack of this batch left.

Incredible again this year. Flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, cream, nutmeg, chile pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted dark/brown bread. Light roast/char/spice bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; great creamy/silky mouthfeel, with some light sticky/chalky roast/spice notes. Lightly increasing bitter/spicy/roast/char dryness. Zero pepper heat. Balance is pretty much perfect between spices and stout flavors. Already grabbed 3 packs, but I will definitely get at least 1 more. Still plenty around.

Outstanding IPA! Grabbed another fresh pack recently. Glad they date the packs now. Aromas and flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with light caramel, lightly toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied/carbonation; balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Increasing resin dryness, minimal hop astringency. This is insanely dank and vibrant! Nice malt backbone, no residual sweetness. Amazingly drinkable. Definitely something like Columbus, Simcoe, Citra in the hop bill. Glad the distribution of Ellison increased dramatically in the last 2-3 months Looking forward to trying more of their other stuff really soon. They all keep delivering amazing results. Will always keep one of their beers in the fridge.

    16 oz. can.
    Canned 12/17/17.
Printed on can's bottom: "Livin in a gangstas paradise."
Moderate pour yields a 1/2 inch white head over a bright amber body with some lacing. Nose of slight citrus, slight tropical fruit as it warms, and even slighter grass and pine. Taste of tropical fruit, citrus, and a pine bitterness. Nice feel and overall, an interesting DIPA and glad for the opportunity. Cheers!
