    Good morning BAs, happy Friday.

I found this beer in a supermarket, cheap from Manchester, the UK. It is not even listed on BA but is on ratebeer. Probably that brewery "Robinsons" recently opened shop.

It's a nice drop. Belgian Ale.

    Cheers.

Good morning BAs! Well, it's another moderately cool day here in NW PA. My son just called to say his furnace isn't working AGAIN! I told him where the diagnostics were and when he read them to me, told him to call the HVAC guy. Looks like a long, cold day for him and his dog.
    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

We don't see any Odell brews in the local woods - I usually pick them up when I'm in Texas. I must say that all of their products to date have been good to excellent. This is the exception - a not-much-above-average take on the wild ale style. Oh well, they all can't be winners.

No, I once wanted to add a small, yet real place nearby but it got rejected/refused by the Bros. I tried again and without success so I gave up on this. Cheers.

That's frustrating, but adding a beer doesn't need to be approved, if you ever decide to change your mind.

There we go, page created: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/23394/325505/

No pic as my WBAYDN photo wouldn't be approved. You need a close up of the bottle and especially not an already opened bottle. Thanks for the tip!

While I quite enjoyed Black Sheep's Ale and Riggwelter Yorkshire Ale when I was living in London, this one left me fairly unimpressed.

Cheers you all and Happy Friday! I have been trying to keep a New Year's resolution to drink only Friday Saturday and Sunday so I have been chomping the the bit to try our very own @JackHorzempa 's altbier. The altiber boasts a sturdy or firm malt and imo that means it does not envelop or lay down on the palate. German base malts and noble hops are called for. It's not as soft as the bock style malt and although this beer does boast of something sweet it reserves any sweetness behind it's full attenuation. hazy coppery and with a sweet orange hue. Fat head of just beige foam that clings in sheets then spots as it lasts a little. Jack's beer finishes dry and with a moderate and assertive hop presence. On the nose his hops are a soft flower petal and a hint of pepper. Nothing fruity and in fact it's the malt that hints at it's potential for fruity flavors without really showing you anything . The hops bitter the finish just enough to cleanse the palate and show you no diacetyl, no dms and nothing left behind. I am pairing this beer with baked chicken and wild rice! New Beer Sunday is coming.

It's amazing how quickly you can get tot he point where you can literally consume mass quantities. OK here is my comparison. The other altbier is long trail double bag.

The double bag is clearer, hoppier and has a head that does not last as long. It has a touch more hops on the nose a little more sweetness. The fruit scent I am seeing in this beer is from hops and it is faint and permissable. There is also a pineapple ester from yeast. In Jack's beer the fruit scent was from malt or yeast and again faint and just a hint. There is a touch of sugar in the finish and it does travel the palate as smoothly and crisply as Jack's. it finishes just a little bit differently though with a moment of sugar to reside in the swallow. Hops are peppery and finish peppery. Both conform to style guidelines. Both have crisp and bubbly carbonation although the bite in long trail is a little more than what you can notice in Jack's Alt. Jack's alt was more nutty .

Jack's beer was not soft. This beer is softer on the palate and stays longer because of the small hit of sugar . That sugar also betrays a citrusy quality to the hops.

If you put them side by side you will see what I mean I think. Since you can't, that makes me the Friday expert. lol BA's Cheers!

Next up is a new one for me, and I think the first BA stout I have seen coming from Scotland. Brewed with cinnamon, cocoa, mulato chillies, and chipotle chillies. Aged in bourbon. Pretty amazing stuff! Cheers!

Not sure how many of you used to watch this, but I am pretty stoked to see this on Netflix! Literally, Cheers!
