Yet another great stout by Aslin, these guys make some tasty stouts! I'm not even a big fan of milk stouts, but this is delicious, with a very pronounced roasted malt and coffee aroma/taste that is greatly enhanced by a nice hazelnut note. Not overly sweet or tart like other milk stouts, but with a very nice bittersweet aftertaste instead. Oh yeah, it's How Now Brown Cow With Hazelnut & Coffee.

I’m in love (again) for the first time...Pirate BOMB:

Sweet dark fruit, cinnamon with some booze on the exhale. Peppers, chilies sauce, chocolate and cinnamon up front; prunes and coffee as it warms from 50 degrees to 56; booze in the background; sweet fruit and hot peppers glide effortlessly alongside the Bittersweet chocolate. Medium full body; warming!; velvety tongue coating that tingles from the peppers. Overall, the spicy chillies, cinnamon, cocoa and sweet dark fruit are well balanced as no one feature pushes another aside; there is warmth from the booze and peppers that make my face flushed, and it is not boozy or overly spicy...I keep thinking Mexican Cake on steroids; thank goodness that this beer is limited in release and somewhat pricey, or my liver and I would have to negotiate some kind of treaty with my tongue!

It’s been 6 months since I’ve visited my usual hot spots for beer hauling; hoping to get out and see what is out there in this big beautiful low country world...Cheers from Summerville SC!

I am glad that I tried this, but I think that I need to resist buying widely-distributed, reasonably-priced "NEIPAs," hoping somehow that they will taste like something Trillium would make.
