    Howdy advocates!

It's almost too damn cold here to drink. Almost... what could prevent us from drinking anyway?

Grimbergen Triple. It's okay, but nowhere as good as other Belgian triples. Can't speak for its availability on the other side of the ocean.

Probably the "greenest" beer I've had so far. Very dank, grassy and resinous, with a good bitterness. I would love it if it weren't for that slight multivitamin flavour coming through in the aftertaste that I find really unpleasant. Still is one hell of a Pale Ale though.

Sarlock -- a rich, bittersweet, and lightly boozy ("it's only 10%") offering from the best little Northeast Minneapolis brewery that could -- 56 Brewing.

Good morning/good afternoon BAs! Well, today we use another of our 30 sunny days annually here in NW PA - amazing how 50% of them occur prior to spring. Yesterday was take Mrs. Lizard to her post-op OP visit with the surgeon's "physician extender" and today is the follow-up with the PCP "physician extender". But that's not until this afternoon, so today's New Breakfast Beer is:

    Passable but not exciting.

What's up everyone? Another freezing day in Germany! Going dark again - this is an amazing whisky barrel-aged stout from Põhjala. The barrel really comes through. Cheers!

The Mrs is off to her old job to tell them the year sabbatical is now a permanent resignation. This one (courtesy of @jvgoor3786) is in her honor.

Hi everyone. Today I want to thank @TongoRad for my beer! This is Foreign Objects What we All Want. I am doing some food and beer pairing today and am pairing my dish with two beers as you should be able to pair each dish with more than one style of beer. I think that demonstrates a good knowledge of style as well as an appreciation for each particular beer. Here is my review. Cloudy hazy and while not muddy it's just turbid. Fast falling head of white foam. Dank and pungent with azzacca hops. The beer also has mosaic and they are sweetly orange a little bit more traditionally herbal. Lemon and sensational with both sweet grasses and dank weeds. Mango and stone fruity softness. Tropical sweetness as well as earth. Mosaic are so powerful that you can't help but notice it alongside these buzzing azzacca hops. You can just glimpse the pale malts. it's a sweet cookie like scent. It drinks so softly but with a strong bitterness. It's a like a fruit basket that has been dropped softly onto my palate. The bitterness is firm but expertly balanced against the sweetness int eh finish. Ticklish biting bubbles. heady with grapefruit flesh the yellow bitter kind and it's peel. I love this and am pairing it today with my Turkey and potato salad. Cheers and Thank you @TongoRad and @cavedave for the chance to try this lovely beer!

The turkey and potato salad with my dressing that includes white vinegar is a perfect match of this beer. The simplicity of the cracked black pepper, white vinegar and sea salt allows the entire beer to be seen against the creamy potato and the rest of the dressing. Teh scallions match the pungency of the hops but neither outdoes the other. Celery adds crisp clean flavor to match the mosaic and their sweet orange.

Moving on to the beer that started it all for me. Saw the thread related to the beer you first fell in love with, and it reminded me of this. Fell in love with it about 18 years ago. Still as good as I remember it being back then. Cheers all.

Beautiful deep rose gold color with white cap.

Aroma of fresh floral hops with a decided citrus bent, I get mostly grapefruit. There is an underlying slightly sweet something that may be malt, or honey, or both.

Flavor on entry is hop forward with a surge that jumps out and lands with both feet on the palate. There is a firm bitterness that quickly builds larger all the way into the aftertaste where it features prominently. I searched for sweetness but didn't really notice any except in the back of the palate where it moderated the hops somewhat.

Altogether an interesting brew that plays a wide range of flavor notes from low to high in a fairly well integrated and complex fashion.

I've come to the conclusion that this classic is better in a glass than a can.

This was what I was watching this morning – I do not know if this is honestly their first live
appearance, but for a band who eventually became huge and are playing at a college event, they sound amazing.
