Good morning BAs and have a nice weekend

Tank 7, as a comparison I took the pic of an older American bottle
The difference? Europe gets the 330ml, America gets 12oz.

I much prefer the « vintage » look on it’s American counterpart

And so it begins with The JollyWoodsman. A delicious coffee stout from Banded Horn Brewing out of southern Maine. If you haven’t had this you don’t know what your missing!

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Not much going on here today. Looking to be a nice clear and milder day for weather. I need to make a new beer run today, almost out of stuff to review again.

Still tasting fantastic. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with wheat, bready, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Crisp/drying finish and never astringent on bitterness. Amazing juicy, vibrant, and dank hop profile; refreshingly drinkable for an IPA. Mosaic and Ekuanot hops are my favorite of all time. They have been changing around the hops every year; but as long as those two stay, I don't care much. Still holding up surprisingly well after 4 months. Still have a couple left.

Incredible as usual this year. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate honey, bready, light caramel malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; with balanced creamy/slick malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Not overly sweet or bitter, extremely well balanced. Lightly boozy alcohol, but dangerously easy drinking. Never disappoints. Grabbed 2 packs this year as usual.

Great malty IPA! Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, apricot, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, lemon zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate honey, caramel, brown sugar, lightly toasted bread, light toffee malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight resins with increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Super juicy, fruity, and tropical on hop complexity; great backing malts, without being overly sweet. Really awesome balance. Very unique brew.

This is tasting insane! Amazing lasting head retention and lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, cherry, licorice, vanilla, toasted dark bread, smoke, and charcoal; with lighter notes of oak, red wine, raisin, plum, fig, leather, tobacco, bourbon, and peppery/piney hops. Light-moderate roast/char and piney/spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Light touch of tannic wine tartness. Medium carbonation and very full bodied; very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel; light slickness, sticky hops, and chalky roast. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness. No acrid/astringent flavors. Dangerously smooth sipping, mildly warming 11.1%. Just as amazing as it ever was for me, complexity and balance is simply off the charts. I have been more impressed with most of the single barrel variants, but the base beer always delivers amazing results. I should buy more than I do every year. It ages gracefully.

This is almost like a NE style Pale Ale. Incredible mouthfeel and body for a 5.3% ABV Pale Ale, but the flavour is not quite as good. Nice enough, but far from amazing, with a certain chalkiness coming through next to the citrus and tropical fruit notes, especially in the aftertaste. A little disappointing, coming from Tree House.

Good morning BAs! About to watch a couple of episodes of "Have Gun, Will Travel" from the early sixties - not your average western from that time period. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Back in July of 2012 we were traveling along the Columbia River Gorge and I was totally enamoured (Screw you spell-check - that is a totally acceptable spelling) by the greenery and the hills. Until we got to Hood River. Across the river in Washington we could see the border between the gorge and the high desert - green and beautiful to dusty and ugly. I picked up some Logsdon brews (and this flute) in a local store and drank them later that week - very unimpressed. I'll have to go back and retry them.

Ah, rain finally stopped and the Sun came out. Then a cold front moved in. Oh well, I have no places to go or promises to keep . . .

Relatively clear gold color with white cap.

The aroma is subtle, or diminished, for a brew that proclaims it's brewed with coffee. My nose might be affected by Early Spring pollen or puppy dandruff but what I'm getting is a mild coffee aroma floating above a malt/grain base. A pleasant scent just not very strong.

Taste on entry is is a combination of the two scents which is to say mild coffee and mild grain. The coffee is clean being neither highly acidic or bitterly roasted, something like a milder style of coffee that has been fully filtered. Not bad, rather nice, but certainly not in your face. The grain base (Pilsner and Wheat malt with flaked brown rice) present a medium rounded flavor that works well with the coffee. Hops are listed at 30 IBUs but are so far in the background I would've guessed 18 or less. Finish is clean with coffee stepping back to the front of the line in the aftertaste.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Ok, a blonde brew made with coffee, malt and grain. Actually this combination works here as the simple parts come together quite well resulting in in a brew that keeps the parts in balance.
