Starting today with a really kick ass low ABV beer from Cloudwater, while watching Lethal Weapon.

Good afternoon and good morning BAs! It's starting off being a sunny day here in NW PA - after the last couple of days of rain, a pleasant change. Looks like it's time to bale the yard again! Today's New Breakfast Beer:

A very pleasing wee heavy! If they would only use a normal-size label...

Yeah, that beer is almost always in my fridge. Haven't found a better dark/coffee beer that's better or more easily available than Hotbox. You'd think I'd get tired of it, but nope. Not yet.

Taste like a high end AAL, which, considering wheat and corn are in the mix, is not surprising. It's a good flavor for the type but still not quite so flavorful as, say, Yuengling Traditional. That sounds disparaging I know but I came to those conclusions before looking up the brew on their website and finding the grain bill does include corn. It sorta reminds me of Schlitz back in the 60s.

Not my favorite, but a decent Alt. Quite herbal, with lots of grain character.

Got an extra day off due to a gimpy shoulder, so breakfast time with some coffee and oatmeal...

Sour Cherry. A refreshing Berliner Weisse from Mikkeller with a summery taste of cherries.
It's also organic so I learned. Till now I thought all beers were organic
    Cheers!

Alesmith Nut Brown Ale English Style 5%. Has a pleasant earthy woody thing going on. It doesn't say anything about smokey or coffee in the description but I'm getting both. Hints of brown sweetness along with pumpernickel bread. (first time ever using pumpernickel to describe my beer but it's there for sure). Touch of creaminess but it's a little too light to say it's creamy. I taste the hops a little bit mixed with charred wood, maybe a little almond or hazelnut. I think I will try more Brown Ales after this one.
