Starting today with a really kick ass low ABV beer from Cloudwater, while watching Lethal Weapon.
Good afternoon and good morning BAs! It's starting off being a sunny day here in NW PA - after the last couple of days of rain, a pleasant change. Looks like it's time to bale the yard again! Today's New Breakfast Beer:
A very pleasing wee heavy! If they would only use a normal-size label...
"Water for my horse, and a beer for my coffee..." Cheers!
Oh! How I love that beer!
6.1% alcohol. Brewed in Louisiana.
Yeah, that beer is almost always in my fridge. Haven't found a better dark/coffee beer that's better or more easily available than Hotbox. You'd think I'd get tired of it, but nope. Not yet.
this beer likes to blow bubbles, apparently
good stuff - grab ya some!
Starting with some captured sunlight . . .
Taste like a high end AAL, which, considering wheat and corn are in the mix, is not surprising. It's a good flavor for the type but still not quite so flavorful as, say, Yuengling Traditional. That sounds disparaging I know but I came to those conclusions before looking up the brew on their website and finding the grain bill does include corn. It sorta reminds me of Schlitz back in the 60s.
Enjoying an early one while visiting family in Colorado.
Not my favorite, but a decent Alt. Quite herbal, with lots of grain character.
Got an extra day off due to a gimpy shoulder, so breakfast time with some coffee and oatmeal...
Sour Cherry. A refreshing Berliner Weisse from Mikkeller with a summery taste of cherries.
It's also organic so I learned. Till now I thought all beers were organic
Alesmith Nut Brown Ale English Style 5%. Has a pleasant earthy woody thing going on. It doesn't say anything about smokey or coffee in the description but I'm getting both. Hints of brown sweetness along with pumpernickel bread. (first time ever using pumpernickel to describe my beer but it's there for sure). Touch of creaminess but it's a little too light to say it's creamy. I taste the hops a little bit mixed with charred wood, maybe a little almond or hazelnut. I think I will try more Brown Ales after this one.
Capital Blonde Doppelbock. An excellent way to start on a cool spring morning.
Tuesday Shoesday Brewsday
Waiting for the cable guy...
We listened to all of these while in high school:
Waiting for the Electrician or Someone Like Him (1968 Columbia Records)
How Can You Be in Two Places at Once When You're Not Anywhere at All (1969 Columbia)
Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers (1970 Columbia)
I Think We're All Bozos on This Bus (1971 Columbia)
Happy Tuesday BAs
Nudging towards wildness...
Well work is over time to shower again.
Is 11am too early to drink? Not with our current president. Maybe I'll move to Montreal. How's the winter?
Birthday lunch! Cheers!
Nøgne Ø Two Captains, awesome.
This beer introduced me to Scandinavian craft beer I guess Picked it up last year in Lillehammer for the first time, when it still had that wonderful label with the double airplane.
Happy birthday @bstyle and this is the replacement for the exploding can Concord Brewing Safe Space. Nice beer. Cheers Bobby
Yeah, It's a shame
hangin' with the pond side crowd....
when a great actor like Ray Milland just didn't give a fuck anymore, (not to mention 'The Incredible 2 Headed Transplant !!) -
Visiting another Ukrainian tap room. Man, it nice to be on vacation. Having a couple beers before meeting up with old friends for some "real drink". Cheers BA!
What?! Ukrainians have brewed a NEIPA - it's spreading guys:
Going up the IBU scale. This is a 120 IBU double ipa that comes in at only 7.8%:
Goint up the IBU scale even higher. Tsypa Brewing - Tsypa 220. This baby measures at whole 220 IBU (the most bitter thing Ive ever bought) and still under 10%:
And finally, was gifted a home-brewed sweet stout, made by a guy who works behind the bar:
Hello and good morning BA. Doing some work from home this morning, and needed a tropical break despite the gloomy weather outside. This is Temescal Brewing Company’s Business and Pleasure. It’s labeled as a Tropical IPA, and I feel it is deserving of that title. I’m very much enjoying it. Cheers fellow advocates!
Also, no jerks.
Nice neipa here.
Needed something refreshing on this humid day.
A LöwenWeisse from Löwenbräu.
Best is not to drink this beer from the can (like any Weisse), like I do.
It’s a juice kind of morning. Up next is Alvarado Street’s Rack It DIPA, courtesy of my pal @AllHopsMatter Not my favorite ipa by them, but still tasty. Cheers fellow advocates!
Done with an already long day of responsibilities, now I just gave to do personal chores so I can partake in a beer. This has become one of my favorite coffee stouts latelyupload image
Mrs. Z is clothes shopping. I’m having a Toasted Lager on tap by Blue Point Brewing while I wait for my pizza:
Refreshment with lunch.
Waiting for the predicted thunderstorms.
Cheers All !
Picked up a couple of these $3 Shiner bombers
Now a Yuengling with my pie:
Cheers from Kent, CT!
Lunch at Colorado Plus Brewery and Tap House
Wheat Ridge, CO
Outer Range IPA and Ribeye Cheesesteak
Ripe, juicy, and loaded with mango and mellon. Yum
