Having one of those stress filled, everything-goes-wrong kind of days and then being able to pour a very special beer that turns the day into a special occasion.

    Top 2 for me:

    - Having a beer after a long layoff (for me a week is long)
    - First beer on vaca, preferably a beer I can't get back home

Take a short beer break while still in bed after the first hour is how I do it.

I love drinking an ice cold beer in the yard a few hours before dusk listening to Doo Wop as my wife mans the barbecue

    I'm here for this

You've washed off the travel grime, you're settled into your living situation, the move is to roll up to the first bar I find and just tell them to give me something local.

I never really thought it out, or actually have done it that I can think of...it was meant mostly as a joke. But you should try it and let us know!

A couple that haven't been already said:

When a beer you've been looking for recently pops up at your regular bar (happened a few times recently at Nice Guys in Cape Coral, FL for me)

When a bartender you trust finds something new for you

When a homebrew turns out exactly like you wanted it

I never quite understood the shower beer. The bathtub beer however, is absolutely glorious.

To expand on my previous post:

    The Bike Beer
Especially the halfway beer during a long ride, somewhere at a nice biergarten overlooking the river during summertime. During wintertime, the beer after a 50-60 mile ride in the bathtub. Which brings me to my next point.

    The Bath Beer
As I already mentioned, the shower beer is quite a mystery to me, but the bathtub beer is just glorious. Especially after a long bike ride in the wintertime, but generally, really. I honestly can't remember the last bath I took a bath without having 2 or 3 beers. I also have a shower though, the bathtub is strictly for relaxing.

    The Nature Beer
As other have mentioned, a beer somewhere with beautiful scenery and peace and quiet. Unfortunately I get way too few of those where I'm living these days...

I'm not sure if this is underrated, but it's hard to beat the high ABV sipper in the backyard, sitting in the shade, overlooking the pool and garden with nothing else but the sounds of softly rustling trees and chirping birds with a good book.

Sinking your hairy forearm deep into an ice chest packed with cans of good old fashioned beer and pounding guzzling them under a summer sky....rinse repeat rinse repeat

After spending one week in a Physical Rehabilitation Hospital (Siskin Hospital) back in 2002, and coming back home to Athens, TN, the beers I drank that night tasted better than any other. And also getting to enjoy my nice audio system, and nice vinyl.

    I have 2:

    1) When you are out doing something fun (can be a day trip - can just be a fun trip into town, or could be vacation), EVERYTHING is going right that day, and you get that first beer. Everything is already perfect, and to start unwinding with something tasty just further releases those endorphins. Love it. Even when it is something rather ordinary, the stars align, and the experience sends the beer into over drive. This only gets better if you have a very tasty special brew at the same time.

    2) The "I'm doing chores/housework and I'm going to enjoy them" beer. For me, recently, this has been drywall work. I'm presently mudding/sanding/"rinse-and-repeat"ing a bathroom, and because bathrooms are all about detail, have lots of it, and sell a house, it is a painstakingly large amount of work and a giant time sink. Know what makes it 10x better? A great beer. Last week I opened a nice BA stout bomber to drink while working. Perfect. ...unless it tastes too good, you drink it too fast, and you stop early :stuck_out_tongue:.
