Why cant they just make vanilla, prop 13, and fruit variant each year and call it done.

I bet if you leave it in your garage it'll explode.

I'd like to give the wheatwine a try. To my tastes the GI barleywine has been pretty unimpressive compared to others, like Straight Jacket for instance.

This is a bit of a head-scratcher. Hazelnut stout, raspberry stout, literally put a bunch of flavors on the wall, throw a dart and there will be more demand for that stout than a wheatwine. I'm sure Goose Island has their reasons, hopefully we find out.

Not sure where demand really plays into this. Distributors are gonna pick up every bottle they make, regardless, and most of all of it is going to sell out at retail on Black Friday. Why not try something new?

I've seen a lot of barleywine and regular sitting in stores....maybe they have so many bottles of 2017 BCBBW sitting in warehouses they figured they didn't want to add to the supply....

They could ship those Chicago shelf turds to other states and quickly make them disappear. No need to make a different style.
