If they price the bottles too low, they will still sell out every day that they put them out. IMO, that is too low. I want them to be high enough that many days that they have them, people can walk in at any time and grab a bottle to drink there. If they are too low, you hve to show up at open. That's the type of nonsense I can't possibly get away from.

This is coming from a guy whom if given the chance would only buy them once or thrice a year. So, not like if I lived there I would just always be doing this. But no way in hell do I want to hve to show up at open to buy a high priced bottle.

I'd like to offer a differing point of view on taproom pricing. Maybe they are priced where they are because most folks won't spend that coin to drink one by themselves, but don't mind doing it when it goes 2, 3, or 4 ways. Thus more folks end up drinking their beer. I probably wouldn't spend $100 on Prop '14 onsite only, but had no problem doing it with a couple of other guys that wanted to split one. That's something I see quite often at Side Project, so it works.

FWIW I don't actually think they are pricing based on secondary but using secondary as justification is absurd.

While I'm not a fan of this (I don't really like sharing BCBS bottles, so paying half still wouldn't jibe with me), that's a good theory. I think most of the people I see with bottles at the taproom are sharing.

I'm fine with paying a reasonable amount more to split a bottle at GI, but if the mark up is big enough I'd feel ripped off if trying something like Regal Rye or Reserve for the first time....

Of all the silly posts in Bourbon County threads, calling something that isn't original, "OG18" is the silliest one I've seen.

OG stands for original gangster. People for some reason just use that as an abbreviation for "original". So OG Vanilla = 2010 Vanilla to differentiate between that and Vanilla Rye. OG Rare is to differentiate 2010 Rare from 2015 Rare.

OG18 makes no sense in any aspect of anything.

While I agree, I just thought most of the GL forum threads were >50% shenanigans and popcorn. So, I thought it was quite silly, and not something that people would hold onto in any meaningful way long term.

I don't agree with this, but I think Straight Jacket is probably the best BA barleywine in Chicago. I'd still take BCBS over Deth's Tar any day, though.

Best BA beer do you mean? Just clarifying the stout statement (sorry to be that guy). I have a 2015 SJ bomber at need to crack when the weather cools

I have a really hard time imagining a fruited variant being tops in my personal list of BCBS favorites, but I haven't had Bramble. Feel free to begin the donor drive.
