Being of one the original guys to help start TVT, we wanted to gauge if there is still interest the thread since there isn’t really a lot of participation in the thread outside of a few. If there is interest we will keep at it but if not we may have the thread meet it’s maker, so please vote to let us know one way or the other
I think the thread is a good idea I don't understand why it isn't just one continuous thread since the "Tuesday" posts continue beyond Tuesday.
I'll admit - I'm a frequent lurker on those threads. I've yet to post anything, but I find them helpful - or at least interesting. I'm all for them continuing.
Good discussion points. It was Tuesday because we were matching the previous version. The previous version wasn’t as easy to follow as BA set up. We could definitely make it continuous.
I definitely like the thread. Previously there was no good way of trying to get an idea of what something was worth. Although I occasionally chase something larger than a FO, I usually am after smaller items. Those are harder to track down values for, and often do not match so called secondaries (which I look up occasionally since everyone used them, and I guess it can be helpful for obscure items). I am Ok with a continuous thread - but I like the idea of every Tuesday making a post within the thread reminding people of the rules, or that it is Tuesday, etc. if for no other reason than that we have gotten used to it by now, and some will probably wait until Tuesday to post.
Yeah the point of punctuating it weekly wasn't necessarily just for consistency sake (rip r/beertrafe) but also to refresh memory of the basic expectations for conduct (same reason it was "weekly" elsewhere. People should feel free to chime in throughout the week but ideally the bulk of the discussion would happen Tuesday. Not a big deal to put it up Tuesday morning (cut/paste/post) but don't want to clog up feeds if people don't find it valuable
Keep it, but perhaps make it a monthly thread..or just go continuous like others have already mentioned.
Same. Being relatively new to trading these have helped me figure out what certain beers are worth as well as entirely new beers I didn't know existed.
I'm on the "keep everything on one thread" team. Some folks are posting on previous versions of the post, and it seems like it's tough to keep continuity when it resets every week. I think it's a good resource even if most of the bottles being asked about aren't bottles I've got.
I think we have enough consensus to change format here to continuous-give it a try and see how it goes
These threads are really starting to clutter up the forum. Seems like a good idea to turn it into a continuous thread instead. I'm not really seeing the point in having a new thread every week, to be honest...
Weekly really does seem pointless since we're not getting the 200+ posts per week like there used to be on Reddit. Maybe just "Trade Value Q3 2018" or continuous "Trade Value" thread would make sense to me.
Easier to navigate part replies that might be something someone wanted to ask but the answer is already there. That section of the forum isn't high traffic so I'm not sure how a beneficiary thread is clutter
Looks like this will be quarterly; "Thread" will replace "Tuesday." And let's name threads along these lines: "Trade Value Thread (Q# YEAR)." I also merged past threads by month to condense things a bit.
