In the wake of the new data breakdowns we can easily access on the website, I thought this would be fun.

Not my top 10 favorite styles, but Schwarzbier, Russian Imperial Stouts, and Milk Stouts aren’t as plentiful as Saison agora example.
    1. American IPA 13.8%
    2. American Double/Imperial IPA 7.9%
    3. American Double/Imperial Stout 6.0%
    4. American Wild Ale 5.7%
    5. Saison/Farmhouse Ale 4.4%
    6. American Pale Ale 4.1%
    7. Pumpkin Ale (I will get some shit for this) 3.1%
    8. American Brown Ale 2.3%
    9. American Porter 2.2%
    10. American Stout 2%

An interesting addition I wasn't aware of. Cool and thanks @Franziskaner...and, like you, not necessarily my Top 10 styles (e.g., German pilsners and doppelbocks didn't quite make the
cut, but if more were available, my styles ratings would certainly change)...

Good idea sharing this, OP. Nothing surprising here for me. So far everyones’ top two and almost everyones’ top 3 are the same. Will be very interesting to see some of the outliers.

Can't think of any top style I haven't tried but there are a few (Swartzbier, Roggenbier) that would be more represented on my list if I could get them.

Love it. I addressed my beer consumption habits in mid-June in a thread about psychological evaluation on personal taste of beers vs. styles reviewed. Here's my breakdown from then:

I wanted to include that as a snap shot as a little comparison.

Current list (1245 beers currently reviewed, an addition of 77 beers*):

    1 - American IPA | 187 | 15.02%
    2 - American Double/Imperial Stout | 159 | 12.77%
    3 - American Double/Imperial IPA | 132 | 10.6%
    4 - American Pale Ale | 47 | 3.78%
    5 - American Stout | 47 | 3.78%
    6 - Russian Imperial Stout | 45 | 3.61%
    7 - American Wild Ale | 45 | 3.61%
    8 - Milk/Sweet Stout | 43 | 3.45%
    9 - Saison/Farmhouse | 39 | 3.13%
    10- American Porter | 32 | 2.57%

*I have about a dozen and half I have notes over, but haven't input a rating/review yet.

I'll be curious to see if the IPA percentages take a hit during the colder months when my consumption tends to focus on darker beers.

@Franziskaner, I actually had this same thought yesterday morning. I had literally done the math right before the new options were unveiled. I suspect I will stand alone with AAL (& 2 lagers) in my top four...

    American IPA | 80 | 15.38%
    Märzen / Oktoberfest | 40 | 7.69%
    American Double / Imperial IPA | 39 | 7.5%
    American Adjunct Lager | 25 | 4.81%
    American Pale Ale (APA) | 23 | 4.42%
    American Double / Imperial Stout | 19 | 3.65%
    Russian Imperial Stout | 17 | 3.27%
    Light Lager | 13 | 2.5%
    German Pilsener | 11 | 2.12%
    American Porter | 11 | 2.12%

This is out of 520 beers and 89 styles.

I don't have many beers in my list so I'm not going to list my breakdown because it is meaningless. However, I'll just pass along a thought -- this thread should do well to sell a lot of premium memberships.

Now when Todd is able to program for the analytic info in the Places database, I'll be looking at that to see where my next vacation will be. I do know that Kansas is a void in my records, so a trip out there is happening in September. After that I think I have only CT, RI, NJ, AK and HI to go to get all states represented in my stats. I've had beer from all 50 states plus DC, but I didn't drink it there, and that's difference for my bucket list item.

Not a premium member, but to paraphrase a famous personality, "Fortunately, I keep my beers numbered for just such an occasion"... IOW, I have a spreadsheet!

    American Pale Ale | 43 | 14.7%
    American IPA | 40 | 13.7%
    American Double / Imperial IPA | 16 | 5.5%
    Märzen / Oktoberfest | 14 | 4.8%
    German Pilsener | 11 | 3.8%
    Kölsch | 10 | 3.4%
    American Double / Imperial Stout | 8 | 2.7%
    Witbier | 8 | 2.7%
    American Stout | 8 | 2.7%
    Extra Special Bitter | 7 | 2.4%

Wishful thinking because I'm not the first with something other than IPA on top. Here is my top line.
    American IPA | 28 | 16.28%

I've had 53 different styles out of my 172 beers in the database, but IPA is the king of the hill.

No need for a new thread, but thought it would be interesting to see what my "bottom 10" would be (plus my "haven't tried" catagory)...
    1. Scottish Gruit / Ancient Herbed Ale | 2 | 0.08%
    2. English Pale Mild Ale | 2 | 0.08%
    3. Sahti | 2 | 0.08%
    4. Lambic - Fruit | 1 | 0.04%
    5. Euro Strong Lager | 1 | 0.04%
    6. Kristalweizen | 1 | 0.04%
    7. Braggot | 1 | 0.04%
    8. Black & Tan | 1 | 0.04%
    9. Japanese Rice Lager | 1 | 0.04%
    10. Kvass | 1 | 0.04%
Of these "last 10", I certainly like "English Pale Mild Ale" and "Euro Strong Lager", but, alas, these styles are so under-represented on the beer emporium shelves...
    1. Low Alcohol Beer | 0 | 0%
    2. Gueuze | 0 | 0%
    3. Faro | 0 | 0%
    4. Lambic - Unblended | 0 | 0%
    5. American Dark Wheat Ale | 0 | 0%
    6. Bière de Champagne / Bière Brut | 0 | 0%
    7. Happoshu | 0 | 0%
I'm sure I've tried 'Low Alcohol Beer" and a "Gueuze" and certainly an "American Dark Wheat Ale", but guess I can always go on a hunt for those last seven.

Here is my top 10 styles (similar to most others):
    American IPA | 856 | 13.25%
    American Double / Imperial IPA | 431 | 6.67%
    American Double / Imperial Stout | 356 | 5.51%
    Saison / Farmhouse Ale | 337 | 5.22%
    American Wild Ale | 299 | 4.63%
    American Pale Ale (APA) | 278 | 4.3%
    American Porter | 202 | 3.13%
    Fruit / Vegetable Beer | 158 | 2.45%
    American Stout | 131 | 2.03%
    Russian Imperial Stout | 117 | 1.81%

Not super surprising though there are some other styles that I really enjoy but are not as readily available.

Here are my bottom 10 styles (tried the least):
    Faro | 1 | 0.02%
    Japanese Rice Lager | 3 | 0.05%
    Happoshu | 3 | 0.05%
    English Pale Mild Ale | 3 | 0.05%
    Eisbock | 3 | 0.05%
    American Dark Wheat Ale | 4 | 0.06%
    Euro Strong Lager | 4 | 0.06%
    Braggot | 5 | 0.08%
    Lambic - Unblended | 5 | 0.08%
    Roggenbier | 5 | 0.08%

I wish that I was able to find more English Pale Mild, Eisbock, Braggot, and Roggenbiers. I also wish I could find another Faro just so I could have another data point in the style.
