on tap today is a fantastic milk stout that i was lucky enough to pick up during my last visit to Tree House Brewing..Miles To Go Before I Sleep..cheers!!

Something new this hot rainy mornin’ - Dragon’s Milk Reserve Bourbon Barrel Stout w/ Cherry Chocolate:



I like, but I’m left wanting more...yes, it smells like cherries, and the taste is cherry/chocolate...but there is no richness about either. Instead it looks and drinks like a cherry cola, and I’d like more body in an 11% stout...half way through the snifter and I’m still looking for bourbon. I love cherries and this tastes good, I just want more of the barrel.

Wet walk with the dogs earlier; it’s probably an indoors day, watching the hurricane track straight for @Marklaker Be safe brother!

 

Good morning BAs! Another beautiful summer day here in NW PA - if the trees weren't shedding their leaves, you wouldn't know it's almost fall.

This is a delightful IIPA/NEIPA from California and @Bum4ever in NBS BIF #8 - thanks Josh!

 

Opened up a beer while preparing dinner. Have a few more in the fridge for tonight but starting off, somewhat, light.

Resting Brew Face from Mikkeller SD, 9.1% ABV New England IPA. Didn't enjoy it at first but it's growing on me. Lots of tropical and juicy notes with a creamy mouth feel.

 

Lunchtime beer. Hot and sunny here today, right around 80 currently. Nice to be soaking up some rays and enjoying a beer. Cheers!

 

Alvarado Street - Cool Runoffs DIPA ... I agree with @Ozzylizard above, this is a good one.

 

Platform - Like Versus Love NEIPA (can).. cheers!

 

Going with this . . .



Attractive shade of hazy gold that does look like orange juice, good white cap and lacing.

Strong scent of citrus hops in a good way with clean, fresh, vibrant scents.

Taste is hop forward with touches of ripe fruit interwoven with the citrus hops. A pleasing combination of the two with citrus overriding but not dominating the fruit. I really don't find malt in the flavoring sense but it's present in a supporting role.

I have zero motivation today! May as well open a bottle while I sit and stare at the fire. Bourbon County bottled on 09/17/12 is still boozy as hell with it's 15% abv. Some nice complementary dark fruit and oak too. I feared it may be going downhill, but it's very enjoyable on this cold Colorado day. Sending positive thoughts to all in the path of hurricane Michael.
