Kane Brewing (November/December 2018)

I still have one bottle of the OG bottling left and I can't wait to see where its gone taste wise. I'll be sad to see it go but I'm hoping to get to it this month or next.

 

I thought last year they only did Rum BA Fall Saints? Dont remember bourbon

 

I think you are right, it was on draft only, no?

I get much less bourbon this year and more of the spice notes

According to Instagram, looks like Kane is doing some anniversary tap takeover at a bar tomorrow and Blue Hotel is going to be on. I wonder if this is an older keg or a fresh batch....hoping it's a fresh batch and we see cans again soon, that was the best Kane IPA I've personally had.

 

Nip'N'Tuck was actually the first bar that carried kane on tap, they do an event there around the anniversary annually.

The correct answer for kane's best IPA is head high, its all preference I know. Just had to say it.

 

I had a small amount as the manager at my local bar was sharing a bottle, it has a tanginess to it I think and I said that last year, I dunno just doesnt do it for me I guess. I thought the Vanilla and Cinnamon might help but I will give my bottle a try at some point. Also yeah I wonder why they didn't sell BA Apiary w/ Peaches

erhm Party Wave is the best no nonsense adjunct IPA from Kane IMO

 

Agree about Blue Hotel being their best IPA. First Reef is a close second for me.

 

You are correct. Best is I had it according to untapped. Funny i tried searching for it a few weeks back when they announced Fallen Saints because I didnt remember if theyd done it and it didnt come up. I remembered rum, totally forgot bourbon.

 

Anyone else feel like the recipe was tweaked some?

Did sneakbox change? Picked up some sneak during my SB pick-up (canned around 10/22), and it taste much more bread-ier than normal. Hell, I've had 6 month old sneak that wasn't as malty as the last 4 cans of current sneak that I have had. hop presence is still there but definitely overwhelmed by the bready-ness.

 

Not sure if I missed this but it looks like Kane Distro might have expanded? I just picked up a 4pk of Head High in Hoboken.

 

Now if we can start getting Sneak Box in stores it would be even better.

 

I bet it’s pretty crazy for this. Maybe not but that’s what’d I’d guess.
