Glad to see they've upgraded those to a real name/label instead of using those "c" and "m" stickers. I assume that means they're now part of the regular lineup which is a very good thing. I'm not much of a hop head but the citra pale is probably the best pale I've ever been able to just grab off the shelf.

Oh hell yeah! Keep brewing and I'll keep drinking. Heard they are doing tours now too.

I love that business philosophy. Expansion for expansion's sake is akin to the ideology of a cancer cell that may eventually kill its host. It sometimes seems like breweries focus on the spectre of constant expansion, chase it to death, and then one day the floor drops out and layoffs, unpopular sellouts, or worse come down the pike. Not Tim - he seems to have found his niche and he's right where he wants to be. I'm happy to have his beer available to me and happy to drink it anytime!

Visited Black Husky with a few buddies during March Madness.

We were the only people there (it was like 11am) and Tim came out and talked to us for a good bit, cool guy.

I hope they continue to do well. It's a nice breath of fresh air to see some non-hipsters in the game (not that there's anything wrong with being a hipster:stuck_out_tongue:).

Does Black Husky bottle date now?

Nope. Not sure people have an accurate picture of how we do things. So I go and look at the cooler and say, "hey it looks like I need to bottle some beer." So I text Katie our bottling Maven and say "Hey looks like we are bottling tonight," So after Katie gets off her day job, we set up a folding table in the brewery, label up a few cases of beer, get the beer gun out and bottle beer. So the beer in the taproom cooler is rarely more than 2 or 3 weeks in the bottle.

Oh it wouldn't be bottling night if Katie didn't have her phone with her remote speaker playing some random Pandora station. She likes Yacht rock or Village People. I prefer Frankie Yankovich. Saturday it was Christmas music. (?)

I don’t think that’s 100% right. I feel like the Barrel Aged stuff from last year was dated with very shiny stickers.

Attended the BA Headbutter release and really enjoyed the beer. Nice work Tim, but please release BA 12 Dog again!

Next year I think we'll have a 12 Dog release. I have a couple of casks and one was filled in March of 2016 so if we release it in 11/18 that will be over 18 months, which I believe is a minimum for barrel aging but we'll see. My goal has always been to produce stuff that meets our standards and flavor profiles that's why our BA stuff doesn't take like pancake syrup with a shot of bourbon. It takes time for the barrel to overcome the liquid that is in it and the beer to develop some complexity. I do have a maple syrup/bourbon barrel that may move more quickly so keep an eye out for updates.

So, did the stars align for this to happen by any chance @blackhusky ? Has anyone heard anything? Scoured over BH's website and social accounts to no avail. BA 12 Dog was in my top 3 for the year last time it came out and the 2016 BA Headbutter I had a couple months back was goddamn perfect. Would love to ditch work early Wednesday for another 'ahead of the pack' release!

Saw on twitter Rays and Discount now has cans of Black Husky. Like their beers but they were a rare purchase in bombers, can’t wait to get that first four pack of fresh Sproose. And hoping for another release of Smoke Monster soon, long overdue for another batch of that.
