Hopefully it means more stuff for Josh's old homies in Bellingham first.

Modem Times has historically been very smart about expansion. I think they got this.

Anyone heard any word about the annual triple IPA fest at NWIPA this year? They typically hold it in early March, but so far I've been unable to find any info about it.

I've gone the last couple of years and always enjoyed it.

How does the Oregon Beer Awards work from an attendee perspective? I saw it was $30 a ticket, is that just to watch the awards get handed out? Or do you get some drink tickets or something? I've been to the GABF session where they hand out awards probably half a dozen times and while it's neat to see who wins, it's certainly not something I would specifically pay to do.

Yes, it’s just admission to the ceremony. It’s a bit more loose than the GABF awards ceremony, probably owing to it being an evening event vs. a morning one. If you like rubbing elbows with brewery and other industry people, it’s a fun celebratory night. If not, there’s no real reason to go. They also live stream it.

The live stream option is nice, I'll try and remember to watch that next year.

Speaking of, here's the winners: https://www.newschoolbeer.com/2019/02/2019-oregon-beer-awards-winners-medalists-and-photo-recap.html

Is Modern Times PDX eligible for beers that were originally created in Portland or are they still considered a California brewery?

Baywindow Berlinerweisse is on a pretty good streak in the past year:

    Gold- OBA 2019
    Silver- BOCBA 2019
    Gold- GABF 2018
    Gold- NABA 2018
    Gold- WBC 2018

As I understand it, they would be eligible but MT doesn't enter competitions. The award they shared for Best Collaboration was via the OBA Academy's nomination and voting process.

    What a coincidence--so did I.

IPA sixpacks were $12.99. Pilsner was $11.99. Pricier than I was expecting. But..To be fair*...these are Whole Paycheck prices.

("Letterkenny" fans may read this with the drawn-out voice and the hand gesture.)

Yeah, that's $1 above the RRP (in both cases).

Just reviewed the Oregon beer awards. I realize a lot of these are dependent on who enters and what beers they bring, but holy cow 10 Barrel cleaned up!

I also bought them at Whole Foods and experienced the same prices, but I don’t generally find they mark up their beer more than anyone else (unlike the rest of the store).
