Excessive Ads from BA?!

    Is everyone else getting a ton of spam as of late from BA?! Constantly getting hit up to sign up for their paid services and constantly being asked about BA events?!

    BA has to make money to keep the site going, so they're doing all they can to attract their most logical customers to the events, etc. If you like the site, support it financially if you can.

    Consider becoming a member of the BA Society. It's only $2 a month to enjoy all that you are getting plus other benefits. That big advertising banner that you have at the top of the forums page? You'll never guess what's behind it, so I'll spill the beans. Society members get no advertising anywhere on the site after logging in, and the big banner is replaced by our own forum where we get to talk about you.:wink: Try it for a year as a member. It won't hurt. (End of the non-sponsored commercial.)

    What's a "ton"? I only get one Email from BA every 2-3 days. Maybe you get more because you're not a Society member, secret handshake and everything.

    We're not asking anyone to pay to post. We're simply asking users to consider supporting us. And the Society forum is used to talk about Society perks and gather feedback on new ideas.

    And we've been doing it for over two decades. The frequency has increased here and there, but we've always been advertising our services to users. It's nothing new for us or any other business.

    I don't notice the issue, I get maybe an email once a week or other week. Not a big deal, like @Todd indicated it takes $$ to operate this site. I guess if folks kicked out a couple dollars maybe they would not have to ask so much. We are talking the equivalent of 1-4 pack of cans a year. I mean really guys, people cannot toss out 20 bucks once a year LOL.

    Correct. If even a fraction of the people who use this site joined the Society we wouldn't need to advertise as much. We'd also be able to accomplish a lot more.

    I spend WAAAAAY more on drain-pours, rash buying decisions, and gas to run to breweries and stores in other states - than society membership costs. I surely would be wasting even more on those things if BA went away.

    If you're a frequent user/supporter of BA, I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to contribute. It only makes the site better, and you actually have (some) ownership in the site. You're directly effecting changes that help improve the overall experience for everyone. That said, as stated previously, they're not forcing anyone to monetarily support the cause. I'll tell you what... ignore the ads and come join me for a drink at the virtual bar. The first round is on me. Cheers!!!
