What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2455

You have my empathy. We are in the process of packing up preparatory to our move and it's a chore compounded by the wilting heat.

It's here, and it's beer. Of a sort. I can handle WW coffee stout maple thang with some food but by itself... a little sweet. Watching some grueling climbs on the TDF right now; the finish looks brutal at a greater than 20% grade! Cheers....

 

Morning chore was a bit more than a chore. 3 mile round trip to the supermarket for a pint of blueberries took 45 minutes as the Village of Stowe is putting in underground utilities, new sidewalks, and sod. I should have brought this with me!?!

The wife woke me from deep sleep at 1:30am to advise she found a “giant” footprint on the hall carpet outside the bedroom...I dutifully arose, and then demonstrated that the print was indeed the same size as my foot...

After a thorough search of the house, she was satisfied we had no intruder...I slept in this morning.

Breakfast beer - Jackie O’s “Oro Negro”, Imperial Stout Brewed with Walnuts and Conditioned on Spices:



Reminds me of BOMB!, only lighter and thinner...I like! The morning mist is burning off, and after the insane traffic has died down I plan on heading into Oakland for my beer run. Cheers gang!

 

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass canned on 6/15/19. Pours a hazy yellow orange with a solid finger plus sticky white head that leaves plenty of thick webby lace, with excellent retention. 4.75

Smell is tangerine, guava, pineapple, and maybe a little pink grapefruit. 4.5

Taste follows tangerine with pineapple, guava, and once again a little grapefruit bitterness, one dimensional and tasty as hell. 4.5

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, soft subtle carbonation, sticky not dry, and at 8.1% insanely drinkable. 4.75

Overall these guys have been doing some great stuff, this is just really really tasty.... Cheers all.

 

Will probably spend the better part of the day outdoors so this may be my only post today.

I took a LYFT home from the music shop today. My driver said "you appreciate music,"
