Glad I could make you laugh, because if you had needed a beer you'd be screwed out there.

I usually refrain from posting on threads about locations I've never visited...clearly it's a strategy you should consider.
I am curious — what breweries do you consider top in Chicago? Pipeworks, Half Acre, Off Color? We get most out here and a lot are languishing on shelves.

Epic is an often overlooked gem. So is River North.

    ...
    And Denver Beer Company.

Any local stuff I should try? Mostly into ipas, pale ales, stouts but I try anything.

River North is releasing a Vanilla BA Stout for the first time next Saturday... probably worth checking out. You'll be able to walk from there to a bunch of great spots that others have already listed above... but Finn's Manor and Bierstadt are my two personal favorites in the area.

Oh Chicago, don't you change for anyone. The best thing about Chicago's beer scene is that they get a lot of imports.

Considering there are almost more references to places to have Russian River in Denver in this thread than CO breweries one should try....

Should you expect anything less from a thread with 2/3 of the posters from the Midwest?
I'm sure there are plenty of CO folks that would happily provide advice on where to line up or chase trucks in Chicago that you'd disagree with.

Never had Russian river but would like to try some locals. Does Mile high and Coors Field have craft options?

I feel like this thread is beginning to veer off course a little, so congrats to the troll for winning that game.

If you don't have access to Russian Rive, you definitely should do yourself the favor of trying Blind Pig and/or Pliny if you come across it in Denver. If you make it to Falling Rock you can do a side by side of RR's Pliny (or Blind Pig) and Comrades Superpower and be in WC IPA heaven. And if they have La Cumbre's Elevated on tap, you got the trifecta.

Wow - this thread got dark, sarcastic, and funny quickly. Love it.
I was just tossin' out a few of the ones I knew of, but again I.am.not.from.Denver and so only have decent knowledge of about a dozen of them. They seem to open a new brewery in Denver every week so hard to keep up.
And with all due respect to CO and IL folks, anything at Bierstadt (CO) is about equivalent to the fine selections at Dovetail (IL) - just to name two breweries.
May a thousand hop flowers bloom (to paraphrase Mao).

Lots of recs on here, and they're all solid. I'll just add, depending on what you want to do before or after the Broncos game, there're a number of breweries you could hit up pretty close to the stadium.

You could basically take an Uber to Call to Arms Brewery, then walk to Grateful Gnome, where you could grab some good sandwiches, and hit up De Steeg right behind them. I think DS are making some of the best Belgians around, but I never hear people talking about them. Not sure why.

You could then walk to Hops & Pie if you want pizza instead of sandwiches. They usually have a killer taplist and vintage bottles. Lots of rare local stuff. Hogshead is a mile from there, and Mile High is about a 7-minute drive from HH.

If 4 breweries before or after the game aren't enough, you could also hit up Seedstock and then Little Machine on your way to the stadium. I dig both, especially Seedstock. They do great traditional lagers, though they don't get quite as much love as Bierstadt. Cheers!

I mean, he did post it this in the Midwest forum asking people in the Midwest about it before the mods moved it here.... Maybe if you would have read the beginning of the post you would have understood sooner rather than trolling here (because I see you left a more comprehensive set of details in OPs other post he did post in the Mountain forum). https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/denver-first-time.622385/

    But seriously, you said:
I've got to know (as you're insinuating): what are the breweries in Chicago that are better than Denver? I asked in an earlier response. What are the names?

Also, you mention Station 26, and Weldwerks; I've got no beef with either, each do a few things really, really well (clean, consistent single hop series beers for Station 26, and depending on who you ask, incredible hazy IPAs/milkshake IPAs...and I think a killer clear IPA at Weldwerks). But those breweries are strange ones to choose as THE two to visit.
Just trying to get some perspective here. Maybe you're right...Chicago does have better breweries?

Chicago has a better food scene because all the fat white dudes are scared to go in thestreets. #theyshootin

As an out of towner I hit up Cerebral, Hops & Pie, and Odd 13. Hops & Pie always has a good taplist. I have been putting off Falling Rock so I guess I need to hit that. Black Project is good to try but didn’t blow me away - I’m biased as I have easy access to Jester King.

As far as Chicago is concerned, need me some Hop butcher!

    Strongly disagree.

It's usually the taproom only rarities that are the most interesting things on draft at the brewery. And they aren't going to send any of those to even the most curated bars.

Any good beer bar has strong relationships with local breweries and certainly has access to their best stuff.

    Agree to disagree, I guess.
